Who do you think will win?

All of these songs received a corresponding Performance nom. "Not My Daddy" and "You Are" are too obscure to win. "Pieces Of Me" could contend since Ledisi has been a consistent nominee, but it won't. "Far Away" would be the best choice. The lyrics are clever and sends out a message. But, "Fool For You" is co-written by Cee-Lo Green, who is quite popular. Voters won't pass that up. SHOULD WIN: "Far Away" WILL WIN: "Fool For You" |

Lyrically, I thought Far Away was the best and would get my vote.

I think it's "Far Away" vs. "Fool For You," since it boils down to commercial success or name recognition. "Far Away" should win. It's not your typical R&B/Soul love song. It's actually about a friend of hers who committed suicide, and it was one of the biggest R&B songs of 2011. |

"Pieces Of Me" isn't a love song either I think it's between "Fool For You" and "Far Away" Has anyone ever won this award and NOT won a performance category? Erykah Badu? |

I thought you meant for the same song. "Shine" lost R&B Group Performance but won R&B Song. He won Traditional R&B Performance for a different song - "Hang on in There." |

It happened with Janet Jackson in 93. She lost female r&b performance to Toni Braxton but won r&b song for "That's the Way Love Goes"

Well, "Shoop Shoop" won Best R&B Song (awarded to Babyface) but Whitney Houston lost Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Janet also won R&B Song for "That's The Way Love Goes" but lost Female R&B Vocal Performance. There are probably other examples. Any reason you're asking this? |

I was just wondering how often this category winner was different from any of the r&b performance category winners. |
