For The Hunger Games, these candidates: Picture Actress (Jennifer Lawrence) Supporting Actor (Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland or Woody Harrelson) Supporting Actress (Elizabeth Banks) Director (Gary Ross) Adapted Screenplay (Ross, Suzanne Collins, Billy Ray) All tech categories ---- And for The Avengers... Picture Actor (Robert Downey Jr) Supporting Actor (Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston or Mark Ruffalo) Director and Adapted Screenplay (Joss Whedon) All tech categories Too big to be left out, too good to be left out, more importantly...the inclusion of one, both, and possibly The Dark Knight Rises, if it's awesomesauce in the categories listed will go a long way toward restoring viewers' trust in the Academy's selection process. It'll get them motivated to watch the show in huge numbers. |

Highly doubt the Avengers will get any nominations since they hardly give any love to Marvel films. The Hunger Games will realistically get 1-2 nods max in the tech category. The only nod I would give it is Actress since Lawrence carried the film well and was undeniably brilliant. Maybe that doesn't seem so far fetched since this year is under some horrible filmography. |

^^ If this lineup is the one accepted by AMPAS, the only people who will watch next year's ceremony are the ones in the Kodak/Dolby Theatre and the relatives of the nominees. And that they will get crushed by the Grammys again in ther ratings |

The Hobbit will destroy the box office. Les Mis will be seen by every high school musical theater geek. The Great Gatsby will be seen by every old person/literature teacher. Tarantino fanboys will watch as well. And ANY film can randomly do well in the box office, just look at True Grit. Your argument is completely irrelevant.

^Yes! You tell him off!! Also one thing I don't agree with is Theron in that Snow White film. I think they'd sooner nominate her for Prometheus. |

I don't expect Theron to be a nominee, this is just such a weak year for actresses that I could see it happening. Especially if a supposedly "well acted" film (like Lincoln) ends up sucking.

If Avengers receive any nomination besides the techs (which won't have) let's go pick the key to shut down the Dolby Theater, because Oscar won't be needed anymore. |

I dunno why anyone would predict Mulligan in Best Actress. Daisy is like such a nothing role. Certainly one that doesn't win Best Actress. Maybe, she has a shot if they push her in supporting.

After re-looking at the story I am bound to agree with you and have updated my predictions as so. However, I still think Amy Adams will win for The Master.

^I'm super disappointed, but I understand why they did it with the lack of available IMAX 3D screens this fall. It was one of my most anticipated films of the year, and now it's one of my most anticipated of next year. |

Gravity being pushed back rally screws up my predictions. I assume now that Viola Davis or Michelle Williams will earn their next Best Actress nominations. Does anybody know where I can get my hands on the scripts to The Master and Django Unchained? I'd like to read the two so I can make a firm decision on Original Screenplay.
