I hope they bring back Group Video. That category has been missed for a long time now! |

I'm thinking Rihanna might be a big winner this year. |

They've ignored Rihanna after her Umbrella victory in 2007 for both Rated R and Loud, though I hope she really gets in for We Found Love. I guess we'll gonna see a combination of Katy, Gaga, Beyonce, and Bieber once again. |

"Call Me Maybe" is turning into a huge hit so Carly Rae Jepsen may get nominated for Female Video. The video is quite amusing and funny and has a brilliant twist at the end. Usually in these pop videos the girl gets her guy but not here. The song isn't as good as "Someone Like You" or "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" but the video is definitely better than Adele taking a stroll (the song deserved an amazing or at least interesting video) and Kelly Clarkson watching videos of dance routines from her spaceship. |

Beyoncé won't be nominated this year and I really doubt GaGa will be nominated too, I'm expecting Gotye, Katy Perry, One Direction, Justin Bieber and Kelly Clarkson with Adele, Rihanna, Carly Rae Jepsen and Rihanna as alternatives. |

She doesn't deserve a nomination for any of the fifty videos she put out this year but I'm afraid she might get one. After all, they nominated her for "Video Phone". |

Beyonce has gotten into Best Female Video for the past 3 years. Expect the same with "Love on Top". That could also garner a Best Choreography nod. Not to mention, the VMAs always throw B a few technical awards and her best shot this year would be for "Countdown". I could see that getting into Editing or something. Carly Rae Jepsen could very well fill the new girl slot in Best Female Video as well. I'm predicting at least 3 nods for her (Female, Pop, & New Artist). If Rihanna can't get in during a particularly weak year for WFL, we might as well just stop predicting her at the VMAs. BEST FEMALE VIDEO Adele - "Someone Like You" Beyonce - "Love on Top" Nicki Minaj - "Starships" Katy Perry - "Part of Me" Carly Rae Jepsen - "Call Me Maybe" ![]() |

^Yeah, "Countdown" wwould be deserving, IMO, of some tech nods like Editing and Art Direction. Maybe even Choreography if they don't want to give it to "Love on Top." Also, they serciously need to bring back Best Dance Video (especially this one), Best Group Video, and Best R&B Video. I mean, I get that they can't go through a single award show without losing track of at least one category, but it makes no sense to have those awards missing from the list but yet somehow hand out crap like "Best Video with a Message"... |

The most logical category MTV could bring back is Best Group Video. There would be a wide range of contenders to chose from: One Direction, Maroon 5, The Black Keys, The Throne (Jay-Z & Kanye West), The Wanted, LMFAO, fun., Coldplay, etc. Considering the lack of dance oriented videos this year I wouldn't want them bringing that back. However, they could reinvent the category into Best Electronica Video or something so artists like Skrillex, David Guetta, and Clavin Harris could compete. The only way they'll ressurect R&B is if they combine Hip-Hop & Soul to make Best Urban Video but that's not happening. ![]() |

But electonica and house artists were always elegible for Dance Video; artists like Dirty Vegas, Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy, and The Checmical Brothers, among others, received nominations in the past. The problem lately, though, was that many of these electronica/house acts weren't so popular in the States to get a nomination over more mainstream, dance-oriented acts like J.Lo, Madonna, Jutsin Timberlake, etc. However, this year they have a lot to choose from. You have DJs like David Guetta and Calvin Harris releasing popular club music. Then you have dubstep acts like Skrillex. And there's also lots of mainstream artists making dance or dance-oriented music like Pitbull, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Nicki MInaj, Usher, Chris Brown, LMFAO, etc. They could even bring less-popular dance acts to the spotlight, like Gossip, Scissor Sisters, Morgan Page, Sam Sparro... All in all, it could end up being a competitive field if they brought it back. |

I don't see Justin Bieber getting into Video of the Year at all. It's the same situation with Lady Gaga last year; they know they're popular, so MTV will give him a couple noms in Pop Video and Male Video, but they know his video isn't deserving enough for Video of the Year, which if nominated, he would end up winning. |
