http://collider.com/les-miserables-cinemacon-footage-ted-oblivion-ripd/162386/ If the reviews i've been hearing about the film are right we are looking at a potential film that could change people's minds of how musicals are on film. They mainly say Anne sings I dreamed a dream for the 40 second teaser which aklso plays some photos or clips from the first two filming weeks of the film. When they start talking about Les miserables is from 9:54 to 11:02. |

^ Well, she's 'glammed' down; she's singing, which sticks out like a slent film; she's young, knocked on the door before. You're scaring me Rock. The Sunne in Splendour; I prefer my Roses White |

I love how this whole thread is trying to make Hathaway happen in this huge ensemble film. BTW not impressed with the I Dreamed a Dream rendition, a little old lady made sure to raise the bar high on that one. |

Anne Hathaway! That's much more than I was expecting from her. This could seriously be her year with Fantine and "TDKR." Looking forward to seeing the trailer soon for this.

Woahhhhhh she's... really singing.. LIVE! I mean, I knew they would be live but.. woah.. It's so.. interesting.. Not used to seeing a musical movie like this. This could either be brilliant or totally backfire. LOVE the haunting echo of Castle on a Cloud in the background! |

I'm quite impressed with her rendition. While she has a great voice, her acting will make an impact more than her singing will. But this is not 'And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going,' so she needs a lot more than I Dream a Dream in order to be in contention. |

Hathaway sounds great! The live singing is one of the most intriguing aspects of this film for me. I'm quite excited to see this one for myself, and now I'm very curious to hear Russell Crowe singing live. Seyfried has a solid voice, and we already know Jackman can sing... Crowe had a little band at some point, but that doesn't mean anything. This will be a real challenge. |

As usual, Hathaway sounds and looks like she's trying too hard. She ruins every film she's in. Ugh. |

I really cannot wait to see this. It's gonna be one of those no-middle-ground things--either all-out brilliant or an epic train wreck. The clips look like they're on the right track though. I think it's pretty well-cast for the most part (I still wanted Emma Thompson for Mme. Thenarier, but oh well) but I'm a little scared about how Russell Crowe will handle Javert's two big numbers. "Stars" is critical for the character arc and "Soliloquy" is uber-dramatic (trying to stay spoiler-free for the few who may not know) and neither is easy to sing.

Wait--was not Britney Spears or Justin Bieber available?! I guess they aren't really trying very hard for the train wreck effect, are they? But sorry I missed the Anne Hathaway singing clip (it was blocked by NBC Universal)... Would have liked to confirm or put my doubts aside once and for all.
