Not as if he was robbed for anything in the past . I must say I enjoyed his stint in Australia though that film was hard to get through. |

If he pull off a win and then the movie win a Grammy he will become the EGOT winner in the shortest amount of time between those who won a competition award (Barbra won the big four in 7 years) since he will win in eight and a half years. |

Only competitive awards count, not honorary ones, so Barbra Streisand isn't considered a Tony winner. They gave her a special award, but it's not for a specific performance. The Tonys website doesn't list a reason for her Special Tony, not even a ridiculous one, like when they gave a special award to Bette Midler for "adding lustre to the Broadway season". |

^^^Honorary EGOT wins get an asterisk next to them, and that's what he was saying. Barb received her awards in a 7 year span, but Hugh would be the quickest to get 4 competative awards. Getting an honorary award still requires people to vote on whether or not you are to receive said award. So they count, but there's an asterisk or they are on a seperate list.
The best album of the year so far. "Past Gone" is the best song of the year as well. Check out Mike Stud's debut album on iTunes. |

Late in responding, but a beautiful trailer, ruined by the sputtering car engine that doubles as Hathaway's singing voice. |

I though Rita Moreno was the fastest EGOT in the 60's.. I remember thinking no one would be able to touch her record (in terms of speediness). |

Moreno only won the Oscar in the 60's, the other 3 were all in the 70's, she took 16 years to become an EGOT winner. |

I hope this movie releases a soundtrack, I may need to buy Hathaway's "I Dreamed a Dream."

Is anyone the most excited about Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter?

Anne Hathaway sang it beautifully! Just remember they are all singing live. We don't want them sounding like Akon do we? ![]() |

Ooh I would love to see Helena as a contender for something. She is one of my favorite actors and deserves an Oscar on her mantle. |

I'm actually really disappointed with the casting of the film. I think Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway are excellent choices, but can Russel Crowe even sing? And while I love Helena Bonham Carter is a fine actress, I wish they had chosen someone with some stronger musical theatre creds like Patti LuPone or Bernadette Peters. And I really wish they had gone with full-fledged musical theatre actors for the younger roles. They got it half right with Aaron Tveit and Samantha Barks, but Eddie Redmayne and Amanda Seyfried is a joke. How great would it have been if Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele had been Eponine and Marius? PERFECTION. |

Crowe was the lead singer of 30 Odd Foot of Grunts until 2005 and continued recording songs with another band he founded, Russell Crowe & The Ordinary Fear of God. So he definitely has singing experience, but I find his voice to be nothing special. He sounds pretty much like one of those suburban dads singing in a cover-band they founded with their drinking buddies.
And if you wanna make sense
Whatcha looking at me for? |

Eddie Redmayne is a Tony-award winning actor for a play, but he's a small name so he probably was good in his audition, about Amanda Seyfried, I think she's a good choice too, she can sing beautifully and when they announced the movie, I always thought that she could land a part, I wasn't wrong lol but yes, I bet that Lea Michele could be a great Eponine, certainly good enough to let Hathaway worried LOL |
