Here are the (rather bizarre) OCC nominations: http://www.goldderby.com/cms/view/151/ Random thoughts: -I guess Judith Light was considered eligible for Other Desert Cities since she didn't play the role last year off-Broadway. Probably Rachel Griffiths was considered eligible too but didn't make the cut. -Nice Work If You Can Get It leads with 9 nominations, but not one for Best Musical. -Elena Roger was left out of Best Actress in a Musical. Hm. But I still predict she'll fill in the Marin Mazzie slot from here at the Tonys. -This is probably the same Best Actor in a Musical line-up we'll get at the Tonys. -Glad to see Philip Boykin get in from Porgy and Bess rather than David Alan Grier. -Bad news for Ghost, which gets only 2 nominations and misses out on a scene design nod. Was just about to post them myself. YAY for Ms. Lansbury! Didn't expect her to make the cut since her role rather small. I wonder if she'll get a Tony nod. The biggest surprise for me is Linda Emond's snub for Death of a Salesman since I thought she was the frontrunner for the win.

Also no Cynthia Nixon for "Wit". It seems it wasn't a very strong year for leading men in Broadway plays. Only James Corden and Philip Seymour Hoffman were nominated. |

I really hope Roger gets in for Actress in a Musical! I think its likely, like Adam said, that Roger takes Marin Mazzie's spot in Actress in a Musical. And I do think she did an excellent job in Evita, such a shame that she couldn't get a nomination here!! |

Also, Matthew Broderick got left out. Strong year for the guys on Broadway in musicals. It's weird to me to be nominating shows for awards that haven't officially opened yet, but I guess they have to get out ahead of the Tonys. I guess it's possible Broderick could get Esparza's spot at the Tonys. I've heard very mixed things about Esparza in previews, and IIRC, seems like there's been some buzz that Raul's not the most popular guy in the biz.

Since Broderick missed out, I'm starting to think that things are looking good for Raul Esparza.

The Outer Critics Circle nominations are always... interesting. Some categories look like our expectations for the Tonys, but these awards really have no influence on the Tony Awards whatsoever. On a side note, I'm very happy to see the nominations for Death Takes A Holiday, one of the best scores in recent memory! |

Some of those nominations will absolutely not translate to Tony nods.. And I don't just mean the Off-Broadway ones! |

Surprise Alan Rickman was left off the list, he's on all the experts top 5 for a Tony, also surprise Seminar is on the list without him So outer circle missed some ones people really expected and gave a few people didn't expect |

Alan Rickman's going to have competition to get a nomination. Beyond James Corden and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who are sure bets, you've got John Lithgow looking very likely, and then a whole bunch of guys who seem to be about equal - Stacy Keach, Hugh Dancy, John Larroquette, Frank Langella, and Rickman. |

These nominations are a joke and have no bearing on the Tonys. "Spriderman" in and not "Nice Work.." even though it got 9 nods? There are too many other laughable noms to mention. |
