I love Revenge. I watch it every week and cannot wait for the second season. With that said, no way should it get anywhere near a best drama nomination. I agree it may now be TV's best guilty pleasure. It is hella fun and entertaining. I love the fact that it is unapologeticly over-the-top, melodramtic, campy, and soapy. In ways it does harken back to all the great prime-time soaps of the 1980's. I feel the people who make Revenge know what it is and are not afraid to do so. All that does not equal a best drama nomination though. Especially now when we are living in a golden age of drama's especially with much of what cable has been producing the 5 plus past years. I simply cannot see a show like Revenge competing with the class of shows being put out by cable TV, or even with the Good Wife, broadcast's premiere drama. There certainly is a place and need for shows like Revenge on TV. As evidenced by Desperate Housewives and Greys Anatomy the past 8 plus years, people still enjoy the primetime soap. Revenge may just be the next best primetime soap on TV. Just not the best drama on TV. |

^I don't disagree, but once upon a time each of the series above were heavily predicted to WIN top honors at the Emmys (DH for season 1 and "Grey's Anatomy for season 2), even though they ultimately lost. And don't forget both have always received acting nods here and there. Though America may still love the classic prime time soap, Emmy has, if going by DH and GA, as well. With that said, I don't see this anywhere close to Emmy's radar, unlike the two above when they started. If Stowe had gone Supporting then mmmmaybe she'd get in. |

Really? You think the episodes infamous as being terrible, treacherous filler would have happened as often if these 22-episode seasons on broadcast had been turned into 13-episode seasons on cable? Can you imagine how stream-lined the story would've been compared to the sometimes-meandering story arcs throughout the series? I have a special place in my heart for Lost, but I get a very good feeling that more effective character work, and less stalling before the end-date was announced, would have happened if it had been on, say, FX or HBO. On the other hand, I love that the show is an example of a broadcast series that pushed the narrative envelope and lasted until, literally, "The End."

The Good Wife is considered the best broadcast but has no shot really at writing or directing. Even if someone likes a Good Wife they would have to vote for the perfunctory network mandated court case that is barely written and shoehorned into the episode. What if the Kings could do court cases they wanted to do and if they felt like it. There are exceptions when it comes to Good Wife episodes of course but writing is severly compromised and the thing with the Emmys now is almost total creative freedom (for the most part). Maybe some ideas for cable shows can't be done for cost reasons or time reasons or casting reasons but the main thing is it is far freer. |

I don't know, I would not want to trade Lost's twenty-five episode first season for anything and it really would not have been possible on cable to make that. |

| That is stupid. Lost's first in two seasons would have likely been more brilliant and made less pressure for them to write the bad and stupid arcs in seasons two and three. They coul have been seriously condensed to a piece of season three in the cable format. | |

Lost's first season is terrific, but if you're telling me that a single very good season justifies the meandering that took place afterwards, then sorry, but I respectfully disagree. I actually worry that a lot of Season 2's issues stem from the writers resting on their laurels, thinking that certain decisions would be justified because, hey, we won the Emmy. Season 4 was my favorite season of the show, but I can only imagine that I would love it more had the storytelling been more concise and told in a smaller order of episodes.

My dream winners for the EMMY's: Best Drama: Breaking Bad Best Actor (Drama): Bryan Cranston Best Actress (Drama): Claire Danes Best Supporting Actor (Drama): Aaron Paul Best Supporting Actress (Drama): Maggie Smith * I love Peter on GOT, but Aaron Paul in season 4 of BB was just amazing. He was definitely the MVP of the last season. |

Really interested to see how the multiple characters from one show in a category thing plays out for Breaking Bad. in the video the guys argued having to go against a fellow castmate isnt bad, it can actually help you since the voters get to watch you twice. wonder if that benefits aaron paul or esposito. would really anger me is peter dinklage. he may have deserved it last year, but this year it would be a joke (of course GOT isnt done yet i know) |

Well, neither Paul or Esposito appear in the others tape a lot if I recall so it actually shouldn't be a factor. SAG voters get your s**t together! |

If Paul chooses his best tape "END TIMES" and Esposito chooses his best tape "HERMANOS" it will so help Giancarlo because he has a great tape with his tape but he has some more great scenes duting paul's tape especially the ending of that episode. |
