Chris Pratt should really go with "End Of The World". He gets a lot of good stuff with the whole bucket list plot, and has that big emotional ending with April at the Grand Canyon. I'm actually surprised more people here didn't suggest that. It's probably the episode with most range that he had this season. |

I think we can say that Jon Hamm now has a worthy (though not winning) submission with "The Other Woman". Possibly a good choice for Christina Hendricks as well because of the amount of screentime, though "Mystery Date" still has her best "money scene".

Parks and Recreation Tape A: "Pawnee Rangers" and "The Comeback Kid" Tape B: "The Trial of Leslie Knope" and "Citizen Knope" Tape C: "The Debate" and "Win, Lose, or Draw" I know a lot of people are saying that Modern Family will automatically win again but with this set of tapes (and really a couple of them could be substitituted for a couple other good eps) I think that voters may favor P&R, especially if it can break into more categories this year. The had a wonderful storyline (perhaps the best I've seen from a comedy that played throughout an entire season) and it is an election year and political comedy has never hurt anyone at the Emmys (i.e. Daily Show, Saturday Night Live, etc.) Amy Poeheler: "Win, Lose, or Draw" I know some people are in favor of The Debate (not enough screen time or showcase, IMO) or The Trial of Leslie Knope, but I really think Win, Lose, or Draw is a winning episode. I had thought about the two previously mentioned episodes above and thought that they would make fine submissions, but when I saw the season finale I knew it was not only Amy's best chance at winning, it is one of the best episodes of any show all season long. Amy if you or your people read this (or even Tina Fey if you want to help your friend out lol) please pick Win, Lose or Draw because I truly think it will win you the Emmy. Nick Offerman: "Pawnee Rangers" I think Offerman will finally break through this year, but its kind of unfortunate because he had the least to do in this season that he ever has. I know many people are suggesting Ron and Tammys, but I think thats a terrible episode and a terrible submission. The Ron and Tammy stuff hasn't been funny since the first time they did it, so they should stay away from that. I don't really think any of the other cast members will get nominated unfortuately, but Adam Scott probably has the best shot. Also, I think that if any guest actress should get nominated for P&R it should be Kathryn Hahn - who was hilarious - and not Patricia Clarkson who did nothing really of note. |

Good tapes. I go back and forth on Parsons between Werewolf, Transporter, and The Flaming Spittoon Acquistition. I think he wins with either of those three (and that with no help from Johnny since The Recombination Hypothesis which has to be his tape and almost no parsons at all) |

"Killjoy" is Linney's submission unless these next two episodes are better. She was pretty hysterical.

Mad Men "The Other Woman" could very well make a winning tape for Christina Hendricks. She has a lot of powerful, barely restrained moments, and her overall screentime/the centrality of her storyline in the whole episode is higher than what is typical for the show. Though I disagree with her category placement, "Far Away Places" would make a great submission for Jessica Pare. She's great in the diner scene, and that concluding bit being chased around the apartment marked the moment that she brought an explosive complexity to the character and showed she was the real deal. Granted, her overall screentime would pale in comparison to Lead competitors like Julianna Margulies or Claire Danes, but the impact is there and past nominees have won with less. Game of Thrones If Lena Headey were to snag a surprise nomination, "Blackwater" could seal the deal for her. That was a true showcase episode for everything she does right with that character, and Peter Dinklage's win for GoT last year proved that the show's tapes can play well even for viewers unfamiliar with the details of the show's dense plotting. Parks and Recreation I like "I'm Leslie Knope" (the season premiere) for Adam Scott, but mostly because his scene with the button with Poehler shows him at his most charming and brings a lump to the throat. I'm sure there are better options, but this episode is confirmation of why I love the character. "Win, Lose, or Draw" is a winning tape for Poehler, so much so that it felt at times like the writers were writing scenes specifically with an Emmy for Poehler in mind. She gets to show more range and humanity than usual while at the same time still embracing Leslie's (many) quirks. This may be the best shot Amy has at the win. |
