Much like this category's female counterpart, it seems there are some overwhelmingly strong frontrunners (Alec Baldwin, Larry David, Jim Parsons & Louis C.K.) It seems that new-to-the-race Don Cheadle, former supporting actor favourite Jon Cryer and last year's surprise nominee Johnny Galecki will fill in the gaps... but which one will miss out come nomination morning? Or will someone else steal the limelight and surprise us all? The very funny Will Arnett or the even funnie Joel McHale? Could Adam Scott ride the Parks & Recreation train to nomination success? Or will Ashton Kutcher get in on name value? Or at a stretch, could some of you be tipping long shots Tim Allen, Rob Lowe or Matthew Morrison? |

It's a sad world when Jon Cryer is safer in an acting category than Don Cheadle. But one thing I've learned, always predict Jon Cryer. And Mariska Hargitay. Oh, and Ellen Burstyn. If any of those three are on an Emmy ballot, BAM. They're gonna be nominated. -Morgan |

Don Cheadle will be snubbed. Galecki might also, if Adam Scott manages to get in. |

| Of the three choices, I would say Cheadle. | |

I don't expect Adam Scott to get a nomination, but his interview with TVLine is why I'm absolutely okay with him moving to lead. Not only did he talk to Amy Poehler and Mike Schur first, but also Nick Offerman. He also says that Poehler is the one true lead. Classy move. Unlike other people (*coughRobLowecough*), Scott knows his place and is a team player. This won't be his year, but that man is going to win awards one day. Not only is he disturbingly talented and hilarious, but he's got a good reputation in the industry. Being a nice person and having a lot of friends is always good for one's resume. |

Well, Burstyn didn't get in for Big Love last year, despite being nominated for it before. So it's possible voters do eventually get tired of their faves. Both Cheadle and Galecki won't be nominated.
And if you wanna make sense

All three of them I suspect. This is such a crowded race and I doubt either of these three makes it in. Galecki is the only one I think has the slightest chance. I think everybody is over 2.5 Men at th is point, it's not event he highest rated traditional comedy anymore. I also think House of Lies simply isn't a big enough show to get in right now. Showtime has bigger shows to promote and I doubt this one even registers that much.
