Attention Derbyites, If you are judging a category this year for Daytime Emmy Home Judging, please make sure you follow the rules as stated below: 1. DO NOT post your anaylisis in the Daytime Emmy Forum! That is a MAJOR VIOLATION. 2. You ABSOLUTELY MUST post all DVD analysis in this forum. Do not post in the Daytime Emmy forum... Make sure you are in the 2012 forum and not the 2011. 3. Analysis must Include the following items: 1. Title of Category you are judging 2. Name of Nominees 3. Analysis of the episodes submitted 4. Your Choices ranked 1-5 (or however many nominees there are). NOTES: Ranking needs to be based on LIKELYHOOD OF WINNING., Below is an example of how rankings and how you should write up your catgeory. It is just a fictional example of the format to use: Example: (This is just an example... obviously these are not the real nominees.. and yes, I made up the episodes and all the information below). "Outstanding Supporting Actress" Nominees: Sharon Case Ilene Kristen Beth Elhers Kassie DePavia Analysis: Sharon Case submitted episode #4566 (Dated 4/5/11) and at 1:22 seconds, it is the shortest performance of the nominees. She makes great use of her time however and showcases an emotionally raw performance in which her character Sharon confronts her louse of an ex husband Nick about his affair with mortal enemy Phylis. Her restraint is remarkable and she gets to the heart of the matter. In another race she would be a standout, however she is out classed by stronger nominees, such as Ilene Kristen whose episode is dated 8/12/11 (episode #4677) and runs 2:34 seconds. Her episode is a different species of it's own. Roxy is upset about the cancellation of her favorite soap opera, Fraternity Row and goes to beg Clint to buy the station and save the series. Her comedic work is fantastic and shows what an underrated performer she is. She has strong scenes opposite Jerry VerDorn. Next up is Beth Elhers with a front-running tape. Her 1:44 second tape is from 11/3/11 and is episode number 6332. Her tape is all about Harley trying to decide if she should tell Gus the truth about the secret she has been keeping. She delivers great work as Harley weighs the pros & cons of each outcome, the stress of which combusts leading to an emotional confrontation with Alan who has been blackmailing her. Lastly, Kassie DePaiva is an expert at picking tapes. She chose wisely a 3:14 second reel from 2/4/11 (episode #7654) in which her character, Blair must face the truth that her beloved Todd is not the man she believes him to be. After months of denial Blair realizes that Todd is a lying psychopath and may be the reason her family is in danger. She goes just far enough to show viewers how angry Blair is but never goes over the top. Any of these ladies could take it, but based on these tapes, the most likely outcome is Sharon Cast in last place while Kassie DePavia will win. RANKINGS: 1. Kassie DePavia 2. Beth Elhers 3. Ilene Kristen 4. Sharon Case
