Bill tells Steffy that he's going back to Katie. Steffy tells Bill that they were brought together.
"I do love you, I hope you know that."- Bill "I know what we have is true."- Steffy
"I love my wife."- Bill (Steffy slaps him and tells him that he is abandoning her) Steffy tosses Bill aside.
In comes Hope, and Steffy tells Hope to "Get Out". Hope tells Steffy that she and Bill are "Over", and that she should just Stay Away. Steffy tells Hope that (Brooke) has corrupted Forrester men for years.
In this reel, JMW shows anger and hurt as her lover tosses her aside to be with his ailing wife, and her stepsister tells her to stay away from the guy. This is the longest reel, clocking in over 14 minutes with 2 back-to-back episodes combined. There is empathy for this young woman scorned, and as Tom O'Neil once said, "Empathy = Emmy". B&B has upset before in years past, could history repeat itself? Jennifer Finnigan anyone?
Molly Burnett # 11499
Daniel tells Melanie that he and Chloe are "finished". Melanie lashes out at Kayla and blames Caroline Brady for her family's problems. Melanie tells Chloe to leave, and says that Chloe betrayed them, and wants Chloe to pay. Chloe thinks Melanie could be pregnant.
At 6 and a half minutes, this reel is short, and she jumps around. If you don't watch DAYS (like myself), it is hard for people to know the backstory of what happened.
Shelley Hennig # 11499
Nathan barges in on Stephanie in her wedding dress and demands the truth, and insists that Stephanie knew that Phillip is Parker's father. Stephanie tells Nathan the backstory on how her grandmother switched the paternity tests, etc. Nathan doesn't believe her, and so he goes into Stephanie's E-Mail and wants Stephanie to admit it, and then she does, and says that she would do it all over again. Stephanie tares into Nathan saying he still wants Melanie, despite the fact that she moved on with Phillip, and says as soon as (Nathan) walks out the door, he'll head straight to Melanie, and she insists that Melanie "ruins lives", and then begs for one more chance from Nathan, and then he walks out the door.
There's some emotional range, but her co-star in the reel (I don't watch DAYS, so I don't know his name, sorry) is doing a better job than she is.
Christel Khalil # 9660
Lily wants to move out of her place because she sees too many memories of Cane. Lily flashes back as she goes through her living room to her wedding night and then she sees Cane. Lily tells Cane that these "hauntings" have to stop, she tells Cane that she wants to be with him in reality, she wants to move on with her life and yells at Cane, insisting that she wants to let him go. Lily leaves her place and arrives at an institution, saying that she needs to be committed.
at 6 and a half minutes, this reel is short. I feel like she had better episodes to submit from earlier in the year. There is much range in her scenes with Daniel Goddard. But, the scenes are too short, but most of the reel is what Emmy voters go for- emotion, this is a woman who thinks her husband is dead, and wants to move on with her life. It has the empathatic range.
Rank: 1) Khalil 2) JMW (I would not be surprised if she won at all) 3) Burnett 3) Hennig
For Your Emmy Consideration- The Americans and The Newsroom (Outstanding Drama Series)
For me Jacqueline MacInnes Wood should win it, I have seen all the 4 reels and JMW has the most powerful one!! The girl is very talented, you can feel Steffy's pain for real!! In the first scene with Bill we have a fragile, heartbreaking Steffy in the second scene with Hope we have the fighter in Steffy back, I love the contrast... Great job JMW!!
I think the talented Jacqueline MacInnes Wood should win the younger actress award category, she has amazing talent, she's fearless with her acting and she keeps people wanting to watch and see more from the character of Steffy, no matter what the writers throw her way she tackles it and does a great job,GO Jacqui!!!
Simple for me Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is the winner. This is her year. OK, this is getting ridiculous. This thread is NOT a campaign thread for your favorite actress to win. This is where we discuss reels. ALL reels. So, either contribute in that sense or stop the insanity.
We want to be able to discuss the reels and analysis, not everyone is going to get hard copies of reels but will watch them online if possible. To me it is clear that most of these comments are mostly made by the same person with multiple accounts (the style of writing is similar in all of them).
