I also see that Crowe recently guest starred on the Irish series "Republic of Doyle" -- has anyone seen this? |

Gladiator! ROAR! It's probably NOT Crowe's best film or performance, but oddly it's my favorite of the ones listed! |

PS: I also like ROMPER STOMPER (Crowe plays a real racist asshole in that one) but one film you probably should have included is another early Crowe film: THE SUM OF US. Crowe plays a gay guy (who is unlucky in love-?!) with a winning naturalism. One of his best.

Imo he was at his best in "A Beautiful Mind". He should not have won for Gladiator. He was awful in American Gangster |

I loved him in both gladiator and a beautiful mind but I would have to go with a beautiful mind. It's just too good. What a performance! I also agree that he should not have won for Gladiator. Tom Hanks should have won his third oscar for "Cast Away" in 2000. Russel Crowe should then have won in 2001. |

Of the movies listed, it's between Romper Stomer & The Insider. I went with The Insider. I also liked him in Proof (w/ Hugo Weaving) and The Sum of Us (loved Jack Thompson as his father). |
