Could you think about the episodes from your favorite shows that showcase the entire ensemble rather equally more than just selected players. Just what would you submit to SAG in Ensemble category if it would work that way? |

Community - "Remedial Chaos Theory" Great showcase due to the multiple storylines. Parks and Recreation - "The Debate" Poehler is on fire and the rest of the cast has great little moments too. Especially Chris Pratt. Happy Endings - "Party of Six" Really an ensemble piece. Girls - "Welcome to the Bushwick/The Crackident" The ensemble benefits from being all in the same place for most part of the episode. Modern Family - "Baby on Board" The only episode that I could call great this season. 30 Rock - "Live from Studio 6H" The sketches are showcases for the cast's comedic chops. Mad Men - "A Little Kiss" It would be pretty hard to choose an episode of Mad Men, because it showcases different people every episode. But this one, besides being two hours long, has that great scene with the cast reacting to Joan's baby. Homeland - "The Weekend" Danes and Lewis are great in this episode and the other cast members also get good stuff to do. If You count animated shows, I think there are some great ensemble performances in Archer's "The Limited" and Bob's Burgers "Bob Day Afternoon". I tried but couldn't pick episodes for Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Justified...

Game of Thrones "Blackwater" The single storyline focus in the episode helps immensely, and every regular in the episode gets to shine, some more than others. Emmy 2013 FYC: Jonathan Banks, Breaking Bad; Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Game of Thrones; Jennifer Carpenter, Dexter; Katheryn Winnick, Vikings |

If P&R gets nominated for the SAG ensemble award, I want their brief cast clip to be the one where they are all trying to walk across the ice at the press event. When it aired, I remember thinking how funny that would be at that ceremony. |

It doesn't have to be this season. You can pick anything. In case of "Modern Family" I think those early episodes, like "Pilot" or "The Accident" with Shelley Long, work the best as real ensemble showcases. |

I completely agree. With six housewives and their men together in one room, great moments were bound to happen. It was a shame there was never an episode like this again. Another that comes to mind is 'Fizbo' for Modern Family. |

It doesn't have to be this season? Well, that opens of the field tremendously. Love or hate the show, Friends always did Thanksgiving episodes VERY well and they were wonderful. My favorite ~ensemble~ episode of Friends though is "The One Where Heckles Dies" (season 2, I think?) I'm not old, but I was young when I watched that episode originally and even then I was well aware that was an excellent episode of telvision. It still holds up. |

Will & Grace also had lots of great ensemble episodes. The Thanksgiving episode in season 7 where the main four characters had dinner at Vince's house was memorable. Its guest stars never failed to impress me. |

One of the greatest ensemble pieces of the season was The Walking Dead's "Judge, Jury, Executioner" |

Good call on the Friends Thanksgiving episodes. My favorite was The One Where Ross Got High, where Monica doesn't want to tell her parents she's living with Chandler and Rachel puts ground beef in the dessert.

Oh, it could be anything? In that case I would definitely go with "The Incident"**, great showcase for the whole cast, great guest performance by Shelley Long and that hilarious song at the end... In that same vein, I would change Mad Men's episode to "Shut the Door. Have a Seat" from Season 3, one of my favorites that show's ever done. **You said "The Accident", but that's not the correct title.

Yep, I can see that now but Shelley Long mention made it easy to connect. What a great episode! How they didn't submit it for any reel that year or why Long didn't submit her name? IDK. "Pilot" and "Fizbo" are my runner-ups but I would say that "The Incident" is really my favorite MF episode that features them the best as an ensemble. |
