CREATIVE ARTS WINNERS |

For the drama winners, I do like how the awards were spread out w/the eligible six soaps winning. Though the win for GH in original song has me confused. Since this won't be an imediate thing, unlike the Primetime one since I remember this forum pretty much pointed out something and ATAS removed "Parks and Rec" from a creative arts nomination for something like this, but I could've sworn I heard that song on either AMC or OLTL, so how does that work. Does it has to be an original song specifically written for that show? Oh well I guess. ONLY A COUPLE MORE DAYS UNTIL THE CEREMONY! |

Yeah the drama winners were pretty good, and I was especially happy that GH took the casting award as well as the Promo category for "Brenda's wedding and kidnapping" because they went all out with that campaign (and got a nice ratings boost too to show for it). |

Nancy Lee Grahn will not be attending the ceremony because of a prior commitment but she will be live tweeting her reactions. |

I know this is harsh, but if she cannot be bothered to show up to the ceremony where (a) her peers are honouring her work, and (b) to support the industry that has provided her a steady paycheck for almost 30 years, then I do not care what her live tweeted reactions are. |

Yes, nice spread for the creative arts winners. It's probably unfair, but I kind of imagine NLG's live tweets will be really harsh and critical. Looking forward to the ceremony, though! RE-HIRE CHRISTIE CLARK! |

Also, DAYS' two creative arts wins are both good news and bad news. If IMDb is correct, DAYS has won a total of six actual Emmys (not counting those "Special Fan Awards" that were voted on by the public) since 1998, so starting off with two before the main ceremony is great. Unfortunately, during that same time, the show's never won more than two in one year, and that year was 2009 when Tamara Braun and Darrin Brooks both won acting awards after leaving the show. It makes the chances of a Chandler Massey win look a little slimmer.

NLG will be in Chicago this weekend attending a charity event she committed to before the nominations were announced. It's hardly the first time a nominee won't be able to attend the ceremony. Really not a big deal. But this is her seventh nomination, and as far as I know, the first time she's not attending. It'd suck if she finally won for this character/show after showing up and losing 5 times and isn't there to accept. |

It looks like there won't be a host this year since it's Thursday and there hasn't been announcement. I say good move. It'll keep the show moving. |
