Now that all 8 episodes of "Veep" have aired, which one do you think Julia Louis-Dreyfus should submit for Best Comedy Actress? When I chatted with her back in May for this webcam -- http://www.goldderby.com/television/videos/44/381/julia-louis-dreyfus-no-%27seinfeld%27-curse-as-she-goes-for-third-emmy.html ... she didn't have a strong opinion on the matter and said that one or two of the episodes that had not yet aired at that point might be good. Have you seen them all? Let's whip up a lively discussion of her best options here and, if you guys come up with some nifty insights, I'll send Julia the link to this forum thread so she can consider your thoughts ... So pls pile on! ![]() |

"Chung" or "Tears" Either one of those episodes puts her in a strong position to win. Seeing Selina go thru what happens when a politician sticks their foot in their mouth was comic gold. Everyone likes to see a politician navigate thru that kinda mess so that tape will play well. In "Tears" the zingers come a mile a minute and the polictial leper line is hilarious. The interview scene with the fake crying would be the highlight of the submission. |

There are a lot of options, chung, baseball, frozen yoghurt and tears. She has greats moments in all of them but if i had to pick one i would go with tears. It was the finale, it made selina look vulnerable and symphatetic. But the main reason is that i feel in the finale selina is the most memorable character and she is not overshadow by the rest of the cast. |

I loved "Baseball" when it first aired, especially for the ending scene when she found out she was pregnant which mirrored George W. Bush finding out about 9/11. I thought for sure that would be her tape until "Tears" came along. Multiple baity scenes including the interview, the speech and the end where everything falls apart at the office. Either way I think she's definitely the frontrunner to win.

Her three best choices are "Baseball," "Tears," and "Nicknames," with "Tears" being the absolutely best! Originally I was saying "Chung," but that episode is a true ensemble piece, which doesn't favor JLD. "Tears" is so good on so many levels -- as Mr. Taloson said, she's got the traditional bait of crying and yelling and big speeches, and in some moments, she straddles all of those emotions in a matter of seconds! Truly sensational work, and easily her submission. More thoughts to come.... |

"Frozen Yoghurt" or "Tears", in my opinion. She should stay away from "Full Disclosure", her character does horrible, unlikable things in that episode, although she was very good. .....but.... Honestly, she could probably submit any of the 8 episodes and still pull through for the win. |

I think "Frozen Yoghurt" is her funniest half-hour. |

"Tears" of "Nicknames" just not "Full Disclosure" because she comes off as really unlikable.
The best album of the year so far. "Past Gone" is the best song of the year as well. Check out Mike Stud's debut album on iTunes. |
