I thought since we shared Days' Kristen moments, I would add some great Ashely moments from Y&R and B&B. Eileen Davidson in Sonny's cafe! I LOVE IT! TVLine Interview This is a fun little interview that TVLine did where Eileen talks about what Kristen's been up to since we last saw her and what she's like now, which actors she's been working with, whether Susan is going to be on, etc. My favorite moment is when interviewer Meg Masters asks, "Can you trust her?" and ED replies immediately, "Can you trust anybody?" Not in Salem, Port Charles, LA or Genoa City you can't. I am seriously so freakin' excited. Kristen's return is going to make everything between now and October 22 both better because I know Kristen will be back and worse by comparison of how awesome I expect it will be having her back. She looks amazing. And this looks so exciting. But isn't her first airdate October 11 not 22? The vixen is the most fundamental character on a soap, and I think not having a well written vixen is one of the factors killing the industry right now. Y&R has ruined Phyllis, GH has not known what to do with Carly in years and is showing no sign of improvement in that regard, B&B has watered down both Brooke and Steffy, Days' Sami is too inconsistent, AMC made Kendall and Greenlee heroines and backburned Liza, OLTL neutralized Blair, and GL turned Olivia into a lovestruck puppy. That leaves ATWT's Carly. It is so strange that TPTB don't get this concept when it seems so obvious. Now all that said, it sounds like rehab'd Kristen may fill the void on Days. IMO it was a big possibility that they would have brought her back the way B&B and Y&R were bringing back Kimberlin Brown's Sheila, i.e. hiding and plotting with throwaway characters until a big reveal months later. I think that could have worked, but the approach they chose instead has the potential to be much better. |

Right you are, gdfl, as usual. I had the dates mixed up, but her first airdate is October 11. And you make a great point about the lack of well-written vixens. Most shows seem to prefer writing short-term arcs for mentally unstable female characters to keeping a sustained vixen on the canvas to stir up trouble. Turning Kendall and Greenlee into romantic heroines was such a bad move, and despite the (niche) popularity of Otalia, the changes to Olivia's character didn't really serve GL very well. DAYS has good vixen potential with several female characters, most notably Sami and Nicole, but neither of them is being written that way. But yes, it sounds like Kristen could filled the void. I guess she'll be much less unstable than she was at the end of her last DAYS run, but everyone involved is surely smart enough to know that no one wants to see Kristen be the saint she was when she first came to town. All I saw was Ashley since I don't have a history w/her as Kristen/the others. Will be interesting to see her in this type of role since all I have seen Eileen play is Ashley, but she looks good and I am glad she is excited. |

On one hand, I'm VERY excited that she's back. On the other hand, I'm sad that it'll be over a year till I'll get to see her on my screen (oh the joys of Australian living). |

Here is one that shows Kristen's plotting and sarcasm, as well as Eileen being hilarious in her other roles (which will probably seem outrageous since it is very Reilly-esque, but still worth a watch). |

Yep- we still have Vivian and haven't gotten Marlena, John, Jack, etc back yet. They use to only be about 6 months behind but thanks to cricket matches and stuff like that, we've fallen behind again. We'll fall even more behind during Olympics. It's still better than in the 90s when they would be like 5 and 6 years behind. |

Wow. I'm a little envious that I don't still have last September - March to look forward to. Those were good times. DAYS will be off for the two weeks of the Olympics here, so you shouldn't lose much time there.
