I took a Silent Film class in college as part of my Film Studies minor. The oldest film I've seen is surely one of those, but I don't remember which was the oldest. We were probably shown that film of a train pulling into a station that supposedly scared the bejeesus out of the people in the theater at the time. I looked it up and it's from 1895, so that would definitely qualify as the oldest.
I don't watch the morning shows (b/c of work), so I don't know what was so horrible about Ann Curry or her abilities that led to all of that. I did see her goodbye speech on YouTube, and she seemed sincere and humble enough there. It's rough to get fired from such a public job like that b/c you aren't liked enough. So yes, I think NBC could have handled things better with her.
