That's why I'm hoping the show submits in Drama Series. Sebastian Stan is being singled out in alot of reviews as being one of the best performers on the show, despite not being a big star before this show. If they enter the miniseries category, then he wont even get nominated. But if they enter Drama Series, I think he could land a much-deserved nomination. Damn you Emmy's!!!! If they wouldn't have combined the categories he could be nominated either way |

Stan would have had a very hard time even getting into Supporting Actor in a Mini/Movie; that category is usually filled with famous people from the film world. Exceptions to that rule are usually veteran character actors who have worked with a lot of people in the industry, like Denis O'Hare getting in this year for example. |

Could Eric Stonestreet receive three nominations for acting next year. Comedy for Modern Family and Miniseries/TV Movie for The Day the Laughter Stopped (HBO). They seem to be safe but if Justified gets what it wants we could see him being the big bad on the show, so that means one in every field possible to score an acting nom. Also this year there are a lot of people who could receive two or more nominations in acting E.g. Janet McTeer (Damages, Parade's), Will Arnett (Arrested, All Night, 30 Rock) and many more i cannot think of. |

I have to say Glee will probably get in next year along with Lea Michele and Chris Colfer.

In 2013, The Newsroom is going to get a ton of noms: Best Actor, Guest Actress, Writing, Dircting and Drama Series to name just a few. |

Why is that? Glee's nomination count has decreased drastically each subsequent year, from 19 in 2010, to 12 in 2011, and to 3 this year. Lea Michele hasn't been nominated since 2010, and the series itself and Chris Colfer were both dropped this year. The only major nom the show received this year was Dot-Marie Jones in Guest Actress. This trend of declining nominations doesn't appear to be reversing anytime soon. Once you fall out of Emmy favor, it's very hard to get back in. I'd be surprised Glee got major nominations outside of the guest acting categories. Emmy 2013 FYC: Jonathan Banks, Breaking Bad; Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Game of Thrones; Jennifer Carpenter, Dexter; Katheryn Winnick, Vikings |

I'm saying this because the show is making a drastic change. Also Lea Michele will be on her own. She will be featured mainly throughout the season. And Chris Colfer is just amazing. ![]() |

"The Newsroom" isn't getting in Drama Series. I can't see a scenario where it would get in before any of the 6 nominees this year, plus "The Good Wife" and the likely new contenders. |

based only on Sorkin and HBO? it so did not met the expectations. so far it is mediocre at best |

Plus, there's some controversy regarding Sorkin firing more than half of his writing staff and straight up lying to critics at the TCA that he didn't. This is a show that only seems to have attracted negative publicity so far, and I can't imagine the industry bowing to this show under the current circunstances. |

The Newsroom isn't happening except for Jane Fonda. The voters showed with Studio 60 that they won't just fall behind whatever Sorkin does, if his show isn't critically acclaimed they won't support it in major categories. |

David Milch + Dustin Hoffman + Michael Mann + HBO = 0 nominations Aaron Sorkin + Jeff Daniels + HBO = worse critical reviews than Luck |
