I think people might be underestimating "Vegas". It could become a huge contender for Drama categories, like Series, Actor for Dennis Quaid and Supporting Actor for Michael Chicklis. |

I think Hannibal will either be a critical/commercial smash or a disaster. If Fuller et al. get it right, I can see the Academy embracing it. If House of Cards premieres within the eligbility period, it could be a major player despite being a Netflix series. It seemed like The Corrections was going to be HBO's next big Emmy contender – such a shame they didn't pick it up. With its A-list cast and acclaimed source material, it just seemed so much more Emmy friendly than the McConaughey/Harrelson series they picked up, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm also interested to see how FX's The Americans turns out. Will Keri Russell finally manage to pull off an Emmy nomination? Will an FX series not named Damages ever manage to sneak into the Outstanding Drama Series category? |

I have a question about Breaking Bad. Season 5 is their final season, and they are premiering 8 episodes this summer, and 8 next summer. Will those two sets of 8 compete in different years, or because they're all a part of one complete season, will they only be allowed to compete at one Emmy ceremony? I'm not sure what the rules are here. Does anyone know?

Both sets of 8 will compete in different years. That is what happened when The Sopranos split their sixth season into two parts. |

Is Political Animals a Series or a Miniseries? They're only producing six episodes and wikipedia lists it as a miniseries, so it will compete there, right? It's a less competitive category and it can pull a 'Downton Abbey' in its second year (if it gets one).

^^^For its first run, it will compete as a miniseries. Then, if it does well with the ratings, it will compete as a drama a la The Starter Wife.
The best album of the year so far. "Past Gone" is the best song of the year as well. Check out Mike Stud's debut album on iTunes. |

I hope it submits in the drama categories. The acting categories will be too competetive since they got rid of the supporting categories. Sigourney Weaver and Ellen Burstyn will have to compete with big stars for a nomination like: Jessica Lange Queen Latifah Lindsey Lohan Janet McTeer Helen Mirren Phylicia Rashad Imelda Staunton Alfre Woodard |

^ It sounded like Sigourney Weaver and Ellen Burstyn aren't stars. lol Actually Weaver is bigger star than any those wonderful actresses. |

Weaver and Burstyn are in the same league as Mirren, Woodard (for the emmys), and Lange, the others are below these womens, imo. |

Wait, when did we find out the second part of the season won't be airing in the same eligibility period? All I 've heard is that the second half will be filming winter 2013, and since I doubt this means the end of the year, there's still the possibility it airs in time to compete for the 2013 Emmys. Unless, of course, there's something I don't know. |

they said the second part will air summer 2013 so it will compete for the 2014 emmys |

I didn't mean it like that. lol. I'm just saying they will have some stiff competition. Helen Mirren will get nominated because she's Helen Mirren. Lindsey Lohan and Wendie Malick are starring in biopics (AKA Emmy Bait!) Queen Latifah, Imelda Staunton, and Janet McTeer are previous Academy Award nominees Phylicia Rashad is a previous Emmy nominee Alfre Woodard will be nominated because she's Alfre Woodard. So, I think they might have some trouble getting nominated with all of this competition. However, if they submit in the drama categories, they're all locks for nominations! |

I think both Weaver and Burstyn won't have a hard time getting in whether they compete in a drama series, or a miniseries where they'll be competing against each other. Lohan's film is on Lifetime and Malick's on Hallmark as opposed to HBO, and they're not Emmy darlings. So, they're not likely contenders at this point. Lohan may also suffer from bad publicity. This year Kevin Bacon headlines a drama series, The Following, but Drama Lead Actor is usually the strongest acting categoty. He needs an overwhelming amount of buzz, not only for his performance, but for his show as well. |
