Plenty of Actors/Actresses have given memorable and great vocal performances yet the Academy has yet to give them any recognition. This is a list of memorable performances in animated films. Which do you think should've garnered a nomination? What do you think of the Academy not recognizing any of these or other vocal performances?

I was torn between Irons and DeGeneres but I voted for Irons. I felt that he perfectly fit the character and design for Scar and his growly voice was the prfecttouch for him. Scar is one of the best villains I've ever seen in a movie and he probably wouldn't have been as effective with a different voice actor.

I voted for Ellen DeGeneres. She was fantastic as Dory in Finding Nemo, and IMO, the best thing about the movie. She made me laugh so many times during that film, it's like something I have never seen before. She should have an Oscar for that performance. It was simply that amazing! I also read somewhere that Megan Mullally was originally offered the role of Dory, but the producers wanted her to do it in her "Karen" voice from Will & Grace. When she refused, they kicked her off and gave the role to DeGeneres! |

I voted for Robin Williams. He truly brought the Genie to life with a mix of Robin and script. It is the funniest thing Williams has done in a long long time. He was the spark that movie needed. |

I was tempted to vote for Dory, but I voted for Donkey. Noone else could have made that blabbering ass so funny and charming. Of the recent ones, Johnny Depp was pretty great in Rango. |

I am glad Mullaly turned down Dory for that reason because she definitely understood that she shouldn't have recreated the voice....although she has used the voice to some extent in Young Frankenstein since then and she kind of took the voice from when she did "How to Succeed" on Broadway back in the 90s. |

Ellen, easily. She was beyond hilarious, some of the best voice work ever.

Peter O'Toole; Ratatouille. And Eddie Murphy, who does better work in the Shrek films than he has in so many of his live-action films. The Sunne in Splendour; I prefer my Roses White |

Great list of people... I always liked Angela Lansbury in "The Last Unicorn" and James Earl Jones in the Flight of Dragons... two of my favourite movies... And i think Sean Connery was great in Dragonheart JOSE |

Yeah, it's Ellen for me too. Simply amazing. But I have Robin Williams as a close second.

Jeremy Irons as Scar. The Lion King was the 1st movie I saw in a theater, and to this day it is my favorite animated film, and it is in my top 10 favorite films list. One of the most memorable elements of the movie was Scar, and Jeremy Irons delievered a superb performance. There's a reason Scar is probably the best animated villain, and one of the best villians in any genre, and that is due to Irons. I can't imagine the movie without him. From this movie, you could also nominate James Earl Jones (Mufasa) or Nathan Lane (Timon). From that list, Ellen DeGeneres, Robin Williams, Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Ed Asner were all superb. I would also add Brad Bird as Edna Mode (The Incredibles). The no-capes scene sealed the deal for me. Emmy 2013 FYC: Jonathan Banks, Breaking Bad; Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Game of Thrones; Jennifer Carpenter, Dexter; Katheryn Winnick, Vikings |
