http://www.deadline.com/2012/07/comic-con-2012-wicked-musical-wizard-of-oz-prequel-jersey-boys-movie-universalbroadway/ So, who should play Galinda/Glinda and Elphaba? I've always thought that Jennifer Hudson had the right voice to make for great Elphaba (particularly on "Defying Gravity"); Amanda Seyfried might be good for Galinda/Glinda.

Interesting that they picked Daldry. I would have thought that they would go for Rob Marshall or Adam Shankman. As for the cast, I would love to see Idina Menzel reprising the role, but that seems highly unlikely. If they're going for Hollywood stars, we may very well see Anne Hathaway, Saoirse Ronan or even Hilary Swank as Elphaba. Amanda Seyfried seems like a safe choice for Glinda. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ben Kingsley drop in as the wizard. A "legendary" actress will likely take the role of Madam Morrible, probably somebody along the lines of Julie Andrews, Jessica Lange, Frances McDormand and maybe even Meryl Streep. And if it is Daldry, does that mean it will be nominated for Best Picture?

Kristen Chenoweth most definitely needs to reprise her role as Glinda. |

Won't happen. That'll kill excitement for the film version. And both Glinda and Elphaba are two great star roles that Hollywood ladies could really excel in. Now the interesting thing is that both these roles require BIG vocals, so none of these stars that can "kinda" sing in a soft voice are gonna work (ala Renee Zellweger, Nicole Kidman). You need a belter like Catherine Zeta-Jones. Not saying she's right for this, but you need a big voice. Anne Hathaway is an obvious contender for Elphaba. |

Yeah Anne is already probably a top contender here. |

Is Anne going to be in so many musicals. She is Les Miz, some thing she will be great for Wicked. I think that if Streisand watches Les Miz she will cast Hathaway as Louise in GYPSY, I hope she plays Elephaba and Louise. |

They'll have to go a lot younger than Menzel and Chenoweth. Amanda Seyfried and Lea Michele would be great choices. I'm really hoping they don't pull casting choices like Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez. Be very afraid of that happening.

Lea has the pipes but does not posses anything near the acting ability needed for this role.

Anne also has Get Happy about Judy Garland, right? Wicked would make a third Musical. Still, with a voice like that I would think she may have Elphaba locked up. |

It's not Shakespeare. She'd be fine as Elphaba.

Yes, Anne Hathaway and Lea Michele were two of the first names thought of for Elphba! However I'd like to see them take perhaps one well-known actor and pair them with a lesser-known performer who will become a major superstar, earn an Oscar nod and become the new It girl. That is the most perfect casting. Anne Hathaway would make a fantastic Louise! I'm not so crazy about Anne Hathaway playing Elphaba though. I would love Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth to reprise their roles in the film version but that really doesn't seem very likely at all. I think Lea Michele would be a good pick for Elphaba, and I also like the Jennifer Hudson idea. They definitely BOTH have the pipes to pull it off. But I'm stumped on the casting for Glinda. Amanda Seyfried is a big NO, so is Taylor Swift. Meryl Streep would be a brilliant Madame Morrible, and I think it's very likely that Joel Grey would play the Wizard again. |

If only Rue McClanahan was still with us. She could of played Madame Morrible ( she did play her on the stage in broadway! ) |

Why not get Dianna Agron for Glinda? She's young, has acting abilities, and has great vocal abilities. |
