What are the biggest shockers (which can be upsets) that could happen in 7 days time with this years nominees?

My thoughts on the biggest :
- No Damien Lewis
- Patrick J. Adams is nominated for Suits
- The Office & Glee gains comedy series nomination
- Downton Abbey snubbed of Series
- The Killing's Joel Kinnaman, Writing and/or Directing gets in
- Nomination for Melissa McCarthy in comedy lead actress
- Five sweeps nominations, in series and acting (Jeanne Tripplehorn, Patricia Clarkson)
- Breaking Bad gains 2 writing nominations, more than any other show for writing
- There are 7 nominees for Drama Series

I'm passionate about the last point given how split everyone appears to be about the "6th slot". In previous years categories have had 7 nominees, such as guest comedy actress and guest drama actor in 2010.

Please share your thoughts.

I'm hoping that hot in Cleveland can get at least 1 guest nomination. Some of the hot in Cleveland guests that can possibly sneak on are Don rickles Ed asner Sean Hayes Doris Roberts Kristin chenoweth Rhea Perlman Georgia engel. I personally think don, Doris, And Kristin have the best chance. Even though I loved rhea and Georgia's performance.

In terms of huge shockers I would say someone like Ashton Kutcher getting in for Comedy Lead Actor.  There seems to be a bit of buzz lately that Tina Fey could miss out this year, which would definitely be a huge shock.

Another shock would be if Homeland totally underperforms and I mean TOTALLY underperforms, as in only Claire Danes gets a nomination.   If Smash gets in for a bunch of major nominations (Messing, Hilty, Huston, the show) I would consider it a pretty major upset.

And Awardzilla I think it's definitely possible that our over-analysis of the Drama Series category will inevitably be pointless as all 7 contenders get in.  But that's no fun!

Did the "two percent rule" still apply to the guest categories in 2010?  The rule now applies only to categories that only have five nominees, so the only way a "six-nominee category" can get seven is if there is a tie in the balloting for the sixth nomination.

other shockers could be Adam Scott (even though he isn't that big of a longshot, but he could miss out)

if any of the GCB ladies get nominated i think we would all die of shock. lol if kristin is getting nominate for anything its HIC

I think the BIGGEST shock would be if they cancelled the Emmys.

The best album of the year so far. "Past Gone" is the best song of the year as well. Check out Mike Stud's debut album on iTunes.

I think the biggest shock that will happen on nomination morning is Kaley Cuoco getting a nomination in the supporting actress comedy category. We all know five of the nominee's will be Bowen, Vergara, Wiig, White, Leachman. That sixth spot I think goes to Cuoco for several reasons:

1. She's always submitted herself in the lead category, but this year she went smart and went down to supporting where she really belongs.

2. She is on a #1 show that is sure to get a series nomination and both it's lead actors nominated.

3. She is all over the nomination lists, she's listed three times actually. If people see her name three different times then they may feel like voting for her to be nominated in the comedy category.

I agree on the first point, though hopefully not. The second could happen, considering Betty White didn't win last year. The last two however are superlocks!

One of the actors from Happy Endings getting in. (great)

One of the actors from Modern Family getting out. (eh)

Homeland getting snubbed Drama Series (awful)

Damages getting in for Drama Series. (weird...)

Jessica Pare and Januaray Jones both making it in.

Smash not getting any technical/creative nominations.
