People usually forget that Jane Krakowski is not as respected as the late Kathryn Joosten or Jane Lynch in the industry. Kathryn Joosten had three previous nominations for Desperate Housewives (2005, 2008, 2010) and she won twice (2005, 2008). Jane Lynch has three previous nominations for Glee and Two and the Half Men (2010, 2011) and she won once for Glee (2010). Yes. She was even nominated for Two and the Half Men. Also Jane Lynch was nominated for SAG, has two Golden-Globe nominations (and a win in 2011), a Critics Choice Tv Award nomination and a TCA win. Also hosted the Emmys last year. Glee lost buzz. True. But who cares? The voters are voting for names, not for performances, we all know that (aka Ellen Burstyn for Mrs. Harris...). While people agree about that Krakowski deserves a nomination and maybe an award as well, nobody should belive this bullshit, that the voters would choose her over Kathryn Joosten or Jane Lynch. That's not gonna happen. If someone will join for White, Vergara, Bowen, Wiig (can be easily snubbed as well, she doesn't belong this category) and Leachman it's going to be Joosten or Lynch. |

I think you're underestimating her. Sure, she's not as safe for a nomination anymore but she's a Tony winner in a critically-acclaimed show stealing every scene she's in (and long overdue for an Emmy considering both Joosten and Lynch already won theirs). Plus, everyone seems to love her. |

I noticed a lot of top critics like Matt Roush/Robert Bianco were really pushing hard for The Middle in their Emmy writeups. One even said it was a superior show on the life of the midwest compared to Parks and Recreation. It's interesting to read some of the very different opinions people have out there on TV. |

We both know that it's a silly comment. Last year, last year...did Mrs. McCluskey died last year? Or did the actress? No. They "both" died this year which is a very sad thing (I'm kinda hate Marc Cherry for killing Karen and I'm still in shock about Joosten's death) but still means a lot of buzz for Kathryn Joosten. It's the last time when they can give her a nomination, I think they will grab the chance to do it...for one last time...for a very great character actress. And you know what is the good thing about that? She deserves it!!! Yes, she was more dramatic than funny, but who cares? She was wonderful in the finale! |

Here's a somewhat related question: What nominations for long overdue shows/actors will make the board go wild? 2 years ago, Kyle Chandler, Matthew Fox, Connie Britton, and Elizabeth Mitchell finally got their overdue recognition, making everyone go nuts. Last year, Friday Night Lights and Parks and Recreation made the series field, as well 4 Justified actors finally making the cut. I predict this year Nick Offerman and Anna Gunn will be those nominees.
Emmy 2013 FYC: Jonathan Banks, Breaking Bad; Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Game of Thrones; Jennifer Carpenter, Dexter; Katheryn Winnick, Vikings |

I am predicting that former nominees who fell off the radar in the last 1 or 2 years will be back such as Neil Patrick Harris, Kyra Sedgewick and Sandra Oh. We will see. |

For me personally, I would love to see John Krasinski finally get a nomination for The Office (although he really peaked in the earlier seasons), Ed Helms for The Office (and this has arguably been his strongest year), JB Smoove for Curb Your Enthusiasm (how he never got a guest nomination is criminal...he is absolutely hilarious on the show), Susie Essman for Curb Your Enthusiasm (she is better on Curb than Cheryl Hines ever was, who got an Emmy nomination for her role), Simon Helberg for The Big Bang Theory (this one wouldn't surprise me as much, but I would love to see it happen. Much like Galecki, Helberg's character has been developing strongly over the seasons, and the wins of Parsons and recent nomination of Galecki help Helberg's chances of landing a nomination). However, in terms of predictions for what I think is most likely to happen, I would go with Katey Sagal finally getting nominated for Drama Actress for Sons of Anarchy (and possibly even the show getting a Drama Series nod). I think any nominations for Community will probably make the board go nuts. |
