BTW, I believe JLD could win with almost any episode, however I think the two most compeitive tapes would be "Tears" or "Baseball".

JLD was incredible on "Veep", but I just have this sneaking suspicion she's not going to win.

Alec Baldwin - It's hard to think of a real standout for him, and the suggested episodes are good, but I thought his best shot would be for Today You Are A Man.  That scene where he negotiates Liz's contract with himself is gold.

Lena Dunham - I agree that the Pilot would be her best submission, but I also like All Adventurous Women Do.  It's the only episode where I forgot how much I disliked Hanna.

Zooey Deschanel - I was thinking Valentine's Day would make a good choice (the adorkable thing is downplayed and her getting caught at Schmidt's door with the giant box of condoms was one of the most memorable scenes of the season for me), but actually Bad in Bed trumps that.  That's what she should go with.

Tina Fey - The Tuxedo Begins is an easy choice for me.

Amy Poehler - Win, Lose or Draw.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus - I agree that almost any episode could be a potential winner, but I'd go with Nicknames.  Her delivery of the material in that episode -- the croissant joke, the viagra joke, the obesity riff at the end, the yelling, the running down the hall -- is all spectacular.

RE-HIRE CHRISTIE CLARK!

Could Jon Cryer win?  The Emmys do love him.  Perhaps the only reason that he lost the last two years is because the Emmys love Modern Family even more.  Could it be that Emmy love = Modern Family > Jon Cryer > Jim Parsons/Curb Your Enthusiasm, meaning that Cryer is on his way to a lead win?

I do not think he win just because of just some emmy "love". But either the metal breakown episodes is the type of gimmicking that emmy voters could fall for.

^^^Jon Cryer is beloved. And if he submits "Frodo's Headshots," his is very funny and very competitive. He and Jim have the two showiest roles in this category and he could win. Despite the awful quality of the show, I think his performance is very deserving.

The best album of the year so far. "Past Gone" is the best song of the year as well. Check out Mike Stud's debut album on iTunes.

I think we very well could be underestimating Jon Cryer to win.  Every year Jon Cryer didn't win, he lost to either Jeremy Piven for Entourage (3 times), or to one of the Modern Family cast members (2 times).  His move to lead actor may prove to be a wiser decision than we predicted.  While Jim Parsons may be an unbeatable force, if Jon Cryer upsets, we can't really say there weren't signs that it would happen. Jon Cryer has consistently overcome the odds at the Emmys. He has been nominated every year for the past 7 years, despite most of those years, plenty of experts predicted he wouldn't be nominated.  Last year's nomination over Neil Patrick Harris showed us that you really shouldn't bet against Jon Cryer, and with that, I've always stuck with my guns that he would be nominated again this year.  Perhaps the Emmys may want to award Cryer for successfully moving past Sheen's outbursts and taking lead of a show, and keeping the ratings from not only plummeting, but helping boost the ratings by an extra 2 million viewers over Sheen's last year.

The Modern Family > Jon Cryer > Jim Parsons theory could prove to be true.

I just finished watching all ten episodes of Girls.  It's an interesting show, but not nearly worth all of the raves that I have seen.  Too often, particularly in the first few episodes, she seems to just go for gross sex jokes.  I respect her addressing body and sex issues, but I just wish the characters were more interesting.  Especially the Shoshana character...yuck!

After watching all ten episodes, I feel like "She Did" is not a good episode for her.  She spends most of the episode being outshined by Adam Driver.  She does get some great one liners, but she spends most of the time reacting to everyone else.

As much as I love Falco on Nurse Jackie, she's not winning a second Emmy for this role before Poehler or Dreyfus win their firsts for their current roles.
