This year "Mad Men" achieved, for the second consecutive year, an amazing feat of getting nomination in every eligible acting category.

Lead Actress: Elisabeth Moss
Lead Actor: Jon Hamm
Supporting Actress: Christina Hendricks
Supporting Actor: Jared Harris
Guest Actress: Julia Ormond
Guest Actor: Ben Feldman

I hope at least one of them will win this year (fingers crossed especially for actors in the supporting filed).

Last year they did the same with John Slattery over Harris and guest spots filled by Randee Heller, Cara Buono and Robert Morse.

More shows to achieve this rare feat?

Hill Street Blues never had any guest nominations, but I'm not sure if the guest acting categories were recognized for all of the years the show was on, however, it was able to score nominations in all of the top 4 acting categories five years in a row:

Lead Actress: Barbara Babcock, Veronica Hamel
Supp. Actor: Michael Conrad, Charles Haid, Bruce Weitz
Supp. Actress: Barbara Bosson, Betty Thomas

Lead Actress: Veronica Hamel
Supp. Actor: Taurean Blacque, Michael Conrad, Charles Haid, Michael Warren, Bruce Weitz
Supp. Actress: Barbara Bosson, Betty Thomas

Hill Street Blues 1983
Lead Actor: Daniel J. Travanti
Lead Actress: Veronica Hamel
Supp. Actor: Michael Conrad, Joe Spano, Bruce Weitz
Supp. Actress: Barbara Bosson, Betty Thomas

Hill Street Blues 1984
Lead Actor: Daniel J. Travanti
Lead Actress: Veronica Hamel
Supp. Actor: Michael Conrad, James Sikking, Bruce Weitz
Supp. Actress: Barbara Bosson, Betty Thomas, Alfre Woodard

Hill Street Blues 1985

All in the Family also did it a few times, minus the guest categories (again, not sure if those were given out regularly while it was on the air)

Didn't Will and Grace do it at one point? I'm too lazy to check. That'd be strange if that wasn't the case...

Will & Grace deserves honorable mention for almost pulling it off on multiple occasions. In 2003, they had 5/6 (missing Guest Actress), in 2005, they had 5/6 (missing Lead Actress), and in 2006, they had 5/6 (missing Lead Actor).

LOL, so funny you all mentioned Will & Grace. I just spent time looking that very fact up before I noticed you all asked about it.

It's sad because in some years the guest acting categories were made up almos entirely of "Will & Grace" contenders.

Oh, and The Cosby Show probably would have done it in 1986 if Bill Cosby would have ever submitted himself for the show:
Lead Actress - Phylicia Rashad
Supporting Actor - Malcolm-Jamal Warner
Supporting Actress - Lisa Bonet, Keisha Knight Pulliam
Guest Performer - Roscoe Lee Browne, Earle Hyman, Danny Kaye, Clarice Taylor, Stevie Wonder

I often wonder how many times he would have won if he would have submitted himself. This man won Lead Drama Actor 3 times in the '60s for I Spy! The Emmys obviously loved him... I think he could have possibly won just as many times for The Cosby Show.

Another series deserving honorable mention is "The Golden Girls" which may have achieved this were it not for the fact that they lacked any male cast-members.

A lack of a male lead also hurt "Murphy Brown" which came VERY close between 1988 and 1991:

In 1988 it was nominated for all but Lead Actor and Guest Actor.   In 1990 it was nominated for all except Guest Actor.    In 1991 it got all nominations except for Lead Actor.

"Ally McBeal" got all the needed nominations except for a Lead Actor nod in 1999 and 2001.

1999:
Nods for:
Lead Actress: Calistia Flockhart
Lead Actor: NONE
Supporting Actress: Lucy Lui
Supporting Actor: Peter MacNichol
Guest Actor: John Ritter
Guest Actress: Tracey Ullman

I can't recall the specifics, but I know that The Practice was also fairly close to this but never did it.

Yet another honorable mention...
Seinfeld, which received nominations in all acting categories it was eligible in (the show never did have a "Lead Actress") in 1994:

Lead Actor - Jerry Seinfeld
Supporting Actor - Michael Richards, Jason Alexander
Supporting Actress - Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Guest Actor - Judge Reinhold
Guest Actress - Marlee Matlin

About The Practice...

They never had a Lead Actress unless Kelli Williams submitted there. So they were never going to achieve this in the Dylan McDermott years or James Spader years. In 1999 they came close but again, with no Lead Actress they wouldn't have done this plus they didn't get Guest Actress.

Then Dylan McDermott never got nominated again so there's that. By the time James Spader came around they didn't get nominated for anything else but him and Guest Actors which they won (Stone and Shatner, plus a nod for Betty White).

As for Boston Legal, they didn't have a Lead Actress and weren't as popular as you might've thought with Guest Actors. Christian Clemenson was their only nominee (twice, won once).

Yes the lack of Lead Actress hurt them in the early years.   I believe in either 98 or 99 they were only lacking Lead Actress.  But I could be wrong.

Also, can't believe we forgot about CHEERS

1991
Actor: Danson
Actress: Alley
Sup Actor: Harrelson
Sup Actress: Newirth, Pearlman
Guest Actor: Sheldon Leonard
Guest Actress: Frances Sternhagen, Sada Thompson

1992 was the year with no Guest Actors. Sternhagen and Harvey Fiestien got in Supporting, plus Alley and Danson

They got all four acting categories in 1983, 84, 85, 86. This plus 1992 and 1991, means they got it all 6 different years.

1993 they missed Supporting Actor, 1990 they missed Guest Actor and in 1987 they missed Lead Actress
