LOL, Beyonce and Katy Perry do seem to have an inside track when it comes to VMA nominations. I'm surprised that they picked "Wide Awake" for Female Video rather than Part of Me or even One that got Away. Wide Awake is so poorly produced. |

MIA and Selena Gomez are probably my favorite nominations this year. Seems like Katy will win Female Video finally. And I have no idea who'll win VOTY, but right now, I think it goes to Gotye ensing the female streak of winners. If Katy manages to win VOTY again, I'll harass MTV for not giving it to Adele last year. I think MTV strayed away from Adele especially since they know she won't be attending because of her pregnancy. |

I'm just here for M.I.A. I'm rooting Bad Girls for Short Form Vid nom and hopefully a record of the year nom a la Paper Planes at the grammys. They owe her several grammys imho. |

The best: M.I.A for Video of the Year. Last week I was telling a friend I would only believe in MTV again if they nominate BAD GIRLS. My credibility died again with the Female category, obviously M.I.A , Dance Again and Kelly´s STRONGER were brutally snubbed. Beyonce? Selena? Im reading Viacom owns both BET and MTV awards now I believe the last year theory about Beyonce briving Viacom, poor thing. Where is Guetta & Sia´s TITANIUM in Best Video with a message?? Where is the Best collaboartion category? |

I don't think Kelly deserved any nominations this year. As a fan, I was extremely dissapointed with her three offerings. I think all three videos could have been way better...they were very lazily executed if you ask me. Kelly is lucky she got the one Darkside nomination, which I find to be very leftfield. |

Of all the performers to announce first, they go with Alicia and One Direction? I can understand 1D but Alicia Keys? Chile ain't nobody checking for her no more. For all the Gaga and Britney fans who were complaining about their 0 nominations, shut up. They had their moments, the songs/videos they released last year underperformed, and they'll have new material next year. NEXT. MDNA is the first album Madonna has ever released whose videos didn't receive a single VMA nomination. Her streak is over. If Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and One Direction wins this won't be the VMAs, it'll be the Teen Choice Awards. Even though I was predicting Adele, I'm glad she didn't get nominated for as many awards as she did last year. Besides the cinematography in SLY, that video was nothing special. If Rihanna wins VOTY, she'll be the first woman and second person to win that category twice. Frank Ocean's nominations feel like write in votes. Best New Artist and Best Direction are understandable but Best Male Video? I guess that's ok but let's keep it real. That buzz about him coming out really helped. I'm surprised Gotye didn't recieve more nominations but then again no one would've voted for him anyway. M.I.A. finally is a VMA nominee. Kelly deserved her sole nomination. Her videos were lackluster and she's not as popular with MTV's audience anymore. If Lana Del Rey couldn't even get a BNA nomination from MTV, I doubt she'll recieve any love from the GRAMMYs. That SNL performance f*cked her up. I'm expecting Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Usher, Nicki Minaj, No Doubt, Mariah Carey, P!nk, Drake/Rihanna, G.O.O.D. Music, and maybe Lil' Wayne to perform. They may ask Christina to do the Whitney tribute.  |

1D is one of the biggest breakout artists of the year and they're nominated. I'd be surprised if they didn't perform. Alicia performed at the Grammys and Billboard Awards earlier this year and she's about to drop a new album. Although she isn't churning out forgettable, generic dance/pop garbage every year, I'd argue that plenty of people are still feeling her.

We should get a pretty good round of performers. No Doubt, T.I., Pink, Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, Frank Ocean, etc. all have new albums to promote.

Sadly enough, the Grammys won't be any better. We'll see the same people all over the board. Again FU VMA, to think I used to enjoy the show back in the day. But now its become Teen Choice Awards 2.0

Actually, Adele's got one nomination. And she wasn't going to even show up anyway. I doubt she is hurt by not being overly recognized by the VMAs when she just swept more important honors and even won three VMAs last year. |
