In recent years, we've seen Kate Winslet, Jeff Bridges, Christopher Plummer, Helen Mirren, Alan Arkin, Morgan Freeman win their first Oscars, and we've seen Meryl Streep finally win her 3rd. Who's next to win their first (overdue) Oscar? |

Well, they're not competing against each other, but of those actors listed, Glenn Close and Max von Sydow are the most "overdue."

Julianne Moore and Leonardo DiCaprio. Seriously. They are the most overdue performers on the list. Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling are young, Glenn Close did not have much work on the screen in the past 10 years, she was on Tv, so no, she's not overdue anymore. |

With Damages ending this year I believe we can expect another high in her film career. |

I strangley voted for Johnny Depp. Yes I know he is on a career low, but if he starts doing movies again like Finding Neverland he'll be fine. I heard he is playing Dr. Seuss.

With the men it should be Max V.S., he should not only get a regular acting oscar, but a special achievement award due to being one of the pioneers of Swedish Cinema (Ingmar Bergman anyone?) With the women it hands down has to be Glenn Close. She should've won consecutively in 88 and 89. Jodie Foster has never been a favorite (Glenn was nominated for Dangerous Liaisons) and Cher should just give her Oscar to Glenn (come on, admit it, Fatal Attraction is engrained in the minds of men the world over thanks to her!) |

Yea, Depp made some wrong choices lately (Alice in Wonderland, Dark Shadows) but if he gets back on doing movies like he did in past and moves on from being in everything Tim Burton picks, i can see him winning oscar in future. |

Vanya on 42nd Street, Safe, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, The End of the Affair, The Hours, Far From Heaven, A Single Man and The Kids Are All Right. Come on, Julianne Moore deserves at least two wins!

And I can't believe Brad Pitt has no votes as of this writing, he would've been my second choice and I think he should have won last year for Moneyball. He's been doing some pretty amazing job for a long time: 12 Monkeys, Seven, Fight Club, Jesse James, Babel, Burn After Reading...

Julianne Moore. Four well-deserved previous nomination for "Boogie Nights" "The End of the Affair" "Far From Heaven" and "The Hours". At least three big Oscar-snub for "Magnolia" "A Single Man" and "The Kids Are All Right". Pretty good to excellent performances year by year in movies like "Chloe" "Blindess" "Vanya on 42nd Street" "An Ideal Husband" "Cookie's Fortune" "The Big Lebowski" or "Savage Grace". If somebody is overdue for an Oscar, it's her. She's one of the greatest actress of our generation. I can't belive that she might end up a non-Oscar-winner actress.
