Thoughts on this? I'd vote for Network (1976)...a performance that is so rich in quality. He has shouting moments, but some very quiet, introverted moments.

It's criminal that Robert Duvall doesnt have an Oscar or two. He's been fabulous before Godfather, Get Low, and everything in between. His cameos are an art form. I voted for Godfather because, he knocked me out in that, and I thought his character was just as compelling as "Sonny", "Michael", and "Fredo".
He could have received a nomination for Get Low. He was as good or better than anybody nomiated that year.
