While I do think that Jim Parsons will win, I think everyone is seriously underestimating Jon Cryer's chances (whom I have in 2nd). He was the reigning champion of the Supporting Actor category until Modern Family came around. There is a theory that someone posted on these boards (can't remember who, sorry) that shows how much love the Emmys could theoretically have for Jon Cryer: Modern Family > Jon Cryer > Jim Parsons We do know that the Emmys absolutely loves Modern Family, and they love Jim Parsons enough to give him the Emmy the last two years, but perhaps their love for Parsons isn't as much as their love for Cryer. This is the first year they have been pitted against each other, and I honestly think Cryer and Parsons are the two most likely winners. It should also be worth noting that Jon Cryer has received more support from the actors' branch this year than he ever has during his work on Two and a Half Men. This was the first year he was nominated for a SAG award. While GoldDerby notoriously predicts that Cryer won't be nominated year after year, I think there is a bias against Cryer and Two and a Half Men, an actor and a show that our editors don't particularly care for, and and some won't even bother watching any of their episodes before making their predictions. Also, if Jim Parsons was able to win his first Emmy against Alec Baldwin, who had just come off a 2 year winning streak, Larry David for his best season of Curb, and Tony Shalhoub for his final season of Monk; and then come back again the next year to beat long overdue Steve Carell in his final season of The Office; which would be no doubt Parsons' most challenging obstacles to overcome to win an Emmy, I think this should be his easiest win to date. Like I said, the only factor we should all be considering to upset Parsons isn't Larry David or Louis CK, it's Jon Cryer. Did CBS do something to upset the editors? :P  |

Nobody predicts him very high because his show isn't good. There's a theory that for an actor to win, they have to be on a good show. But Cryer is definitely up there. He gives a very good performance on a piece of crap, and people can't look past the crap (except for the academy).

Cryer is great on a show that was once good but now is awful. Larry David/C.K are the ones that deserves to win, those are truly funny performances. But that's my opinion.

, I agree - I think anyone who objectively watches these tapes can't underestimate Cryer. He has an extremely strong episode in a field of very weak submissions. If I was voting, I'd give it to him. |

Great video, but I completely disagree about Moss being put in 5th and 4th and baffled about Kathy Bates being put in second place????!!! Moss is the dark horse for me - I don't understand how Matt can say she didn't have the climax of the episode - she was the climax of the episode!! If anyone can beat Danes it is definitely Moss - Bates shouldn't be bumped to second just because her show is getting cancelled. As we say time and time and time again - emmy voters are not sentimental. I understand that no Mad Men actor has won an emmy for the show before but Bates? for Harry's Law? Seriously? 1.
