With Tom Sherak failing to lock down Jimmy Fallon and Lorne Michaels for this year's telecast, it has me wondering: who should host and produce the Oscars this year?

In my opinion, Jimmy Fallon would have made a fine host (all those who doubt him should watch or re-watch his Emmy gig two years ago). It's a shame that he thinks its not his time. If they want to continue on the late night circuit, they should go for Jimmy Kimmel (especially if he nails the Emmys come September). He's painfully funny and ABC will definitely approve as it's free promotion for his show. Jon Stewart could definitely come back for a thrid time. Maybe this time he could bring Stephen Colbert along?

While Fallon has rejected his Oscar bid, there's no news on if Lorne Michaels has rejected. If he agrees to produce, then it wouldn't be far-fetched for Tina Fey to host. The Oscars need another solo female comedian to host. Whoopi and Ellen just don't cut it. Maybe if Tina Fey signs on, she and Lorne can convince Steve Martin to co-host. They both killed it in 2009 when they were presenting the Writing categories.

Finally, if Les Miserables is successful, Hugh Jackman could return as host. Possibly with Anne Hathaway? He did great when he hosted and if it wasn't for James Franco, Hathaway would have made a fine solo host.

Anyways, sorry for the essay. Just a little too interested in the ceremony aspect of the Oscars. Who do you think should host this year?

I said it last year and I will say it again:

WHOOPI GOLDBERG AND BILLY CRYSTAL

Whoopi has said countless times that she would only host again if Billy co-hosted it with her. And with Billy obviously not against hosting it, I think this will come off as GOLD!!!

I would love to see Jackman and Hathaway because they have such great chemistry.

Tina Fey should Co-host with Robert Downey Jr. (he could host with anyone.)

I think it would be awesome to have Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal and Robin Williams host. It would be epic!

The reason why Hugh Jackman has not return yet is beyond my comprehension. Anyway, if not him, I'm OK with Jon stewart coming back. I think he was undervalued.

Definitelly Whoopi Goldberg is the best choice. she'd been one of the most entertaining host ever at OSCARs. Also Robbin Williams would be amazing.

I can't imagine Robert Downey Jr as a host and don't want to see Ellen once more.

Colbert and Carrell. With some Stewart, maybe. That would be genius.

I would also love to see Fey host, and especially Poehler after all of her fun stunts at the Emmys that she coordinates

Kathy Griffin is way too controversial. The Oscars would never choose someone like that to host.

I'm tired of Billy Crystal. He's not that good...and Whoopi Goldberg is so over...

SANDRA FUCKIN' BULLOCK. She would be the perfect host, EVER.

Or Hathaway & Jackman. It would be the first time when an actual host wins a Supporting Actress Oscar, right?
