This category isn't in the predictions centre, so I was wondering who the frontrunner is?

My thoughts:
Animated Program: The Simpsons This is American Dad’s second nom, and its first since 2009. It’s a good show, and the episode’s fine, but it’s not an Emmy darling. The Penguins of Madagascar is cute and funny, but it’s a little kid’s show telling simple little kid jokes. For something like this to win it would have to match in quality Prep and Landing, and it’s no Prep and Landing. Bob’s Burgers submitted a great, great episode and it’s a hilarious show, but it’s also a first-time nominee and thus untested. But look for it to upset-win. The submitted Futurama episode has a lot to live up to, and it’s certainly very, very funny and good, but it’s not as good as last year’s winner The Late Phillip J. Fry. That leaves the best Simpsons episode in ages, Holidays of Future Passed, a hilarious and smart episode that would fit in with the simpsons’ all-time best. |

I'd give this one to The Simpsons most likely, even though I'd prefer Bob's Burgers (though I enjoyed Beefsquatch and Bad Tina more as episodes). In a perfect world, though, this award would be in the bag for Archer's Lo Scandalo. |

I mostly agree with Sams' analysis. The Simpsons are the most likely to take this. The episode is very charming and clever, even though I don't buy some of the developments of the characters. They also won for a future episode before. But this could be taken for or against them.
My niece adores The Penguins of Madagascar and she often dragged me to watch it with her. And I must say it really is a very good show, but as Sams said it is very kid-oriented. In my opinion Tip of the Zoidberg is not a good episode, they could have submitted much better. I don't find it very accessible and also it does not really have the typical tone of the show. As a fan of Fututrama I didn't like it very much, and voters who like the show might think similar. The American Dad! people must really not care much about being nominated. Like that one year they managed to get a nod they submitted the season premiere, apparenly by default, even though there were better options. The episode has its moments, but just feels unfinished. It did not necessarily need to have a happy ending, but the way it did end is unsatisfying. The musical elements are very nice though.
And if you wanna make sense

Unfortunately, the award went to Penguins of Madagascar in an upset. Based on your votes, it received 6% of votes, taking it away from frontrunner The Simpsons, which had 69% of predictions.

I like this win very much, although the Simpsons' episode was indeed very good.

Never seen Penguins of Madagascar. I would've loved to have seen a win for Bob's Burgers. It's extremely funny and not enough people watch it. |

As much as I love American Dad! as a show, The Simpsons simply had a better episode (and even was and I was appauled when The Penguins of Madagascar won it (though I never saw the episode). |
