Let me go for it, then. The most interesting thing about the SAG is the ensemble category. What do you guys think will get nominated? For now, I'll say 1. Argo 2. Silver Linings Playbook 3. Les Miserables 4. Lincoln and... Those four are ensemble piece, or at least have a starry cast. Do you think 'The Master' would get in? It was really focused on the two leads in my opinion. I also don't think either Life of Pi or Beasts of the Southern Wild could get in. Maybe 'Anna Karenina', 'Zero Dark Thirty' or 'Django'. I think 'Moonrise Kingdom' has a shot.

OUTSTANDING CAST FOR A MOTION PICTURE 1. Argo 2. Les Misrables 3. Django Unchained 4. Moonrise Kingdom 5. Silver Linings Playbook I think The Master will be a cast of 3 people, Hoffman, Phoenix and Adams who will be individually nominated, however we shouldn't under estimate their star power when two of these people formed half of the SAG nominated cast for 'Doubt' in addition to 4 individual nominations for each actor in the film. I can see Lincoln gaining DDL a nod, maybe a win, even if he doesn't win at the Oscars. A cast nod could happen, though I'd look more to Sally Fields getting an individual nomination for her role only. ---------------------------------------------------------------- OUTSTANDING CAST FOR A DRAMA SERIES: 1. Downton Abbey 2. Boardwalk Empire 3. The Good Wife 4. Mad Men 5. Breaking Bad OUTSTANDING CAST FOR A COMEDY SERIES: 1. Modern Family 2. The Big Bang Theory 3. The Office 4. 30 Rock 5. Parks and Recreation MINISERIES ACTRESS 1. Julianne Moore 2. Nicole Kidman 3. Jessica Lange 4. Sigourney Weaver 5. Emma Thompson MINISERIES ACTOR 1. Woody Harrelson 2. Ed Harris 3. Kevin Costner 4. Bill Paxton 5. Clive Owen I'll fill out the blanks once I synthesise more ideas! |

Emma Thompson for what? If you mean for The Song of Lunch, that aired in 2011 and PBS didn't even submit Thompson for SAG for that. If you mean for Walking The Dogs, I don't think that it's scheduled for a 2012 U.S. premiere (if at all), although I would like to see Thompson's take on Queen Elizabeth II. And sorry for posting on TV here, Boomer. I'll add more of my TV category related thoughts when a thread appears in the TV forums. |
