Samantha most definitely with Carrie as a close second.
Charlotte and Miranda are interchangable. Charlotte's character is pretty boring and repetitive at times, and Miranda's character pisses me off more than anything.

Miranda and Samantha are definetely the best. Miranda is a very underrated character, seen as a sarcastic b!tch, but IMO her character over the season develops very nicely and much better than the other 3. She just has some quotes that are amazing...

Miranda: I didn't tell Walker I was pregnant. 
Carrie: Miranda! 
Miranda: It didn't come up! If Walker had said to me, "Have you given birth recently?", I would have said, "Well, first of all, define recently."  

Miranda: I'm telling you: the fat ass, the farting .. it's ridiculous. I am un-fuckable. And I have never been so horny in my entire life. ... That's why you're supposed to be married when you're pregnant, so somebody is obligated to have sex with you. 

And there are many more.

Samantha of course owned this show. Her character, her way of thinking and her quotes.

Then for me it comes Carrie and Charlotte, who are very close but I give the edge to Carrie. 

But I love them all.
