Watch out for Carrie Underwood's "Two Black Cadillacs" for Country Song, Country Solo Performance, and maybe Song of the Year. It is the best written song from her since "Jesus, Take the Wheel", which was able to get nominated for Song of the Year. I think if she can get nominated for "Before He Cheats", she could get nominated for "Two Black Cadillacs".

Also watch out for Bruno Mars in Song of the Year for "When I Was Your Man", which IMO is better than "Grenade".

Pink can win Best Short Form Video for "Try". That is an amazing video.

Eminem WAS nominated for consecutive albums. His first two nods came from Marshal Mathers LP and Eminem Show. But whatever, if it goes the way of Recovery, it could be nominated. 

Justin Timberlake could easily join Bruno in Pop Solo and could also be close to leading the nominations considering that this time around his lead single and album are out way before the end of the elegibility period, so his usual nominations could come in a single year and not be split in different years like with Justified and FSLS. If the album is good and has a bunch of songs and collaborations he could end up in pop solo, pop collab, dance, rap/sung plus pop vocal album, video and general field. Exaggerating, of course, but you never know, he's shown up in all of those before, except video.

Early GF contenders:

AOTY
Red- Taylor Swift (This album is almost too big to ignore at this point, but it could be overshadowed in the end)
good kid, m.A.A.d city- Kendrick Lamar (wishful thinking)
Unorthodox Jukebox- Bruno Mars (I hope this is forgotten by next year and it probably will unless he has more hit singles)

Justin Timberlake and Beyonce are in great postions to get into AOTY and even win if they have enough commercial/critical success. If ARTPOP is a major success for Gaga, she could possibly win too on her fourth consecutive nomination.
If the Black Keys come back hard this year, they could easily take this award. 
MIA, Jay-Z and Lady Antebellum are also in good positions to be nominated if they deliver. 
Unfortunately, I think Kanye's days in AOTY are over (for his solo efforts at least) because of his attitude. 
If deserved, I would love to see alternative acts like Arcade Fire and/or Thom Yorke to get in again or for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to break through finally.

I hope Florence wins her first Grammy for her collaboration with Calvin Harris, "Sweet Nothing," in Best Dance Recording!!

If Adele keeps putting out singles yearly, I really wouldn't mind if she became the Kanye/Jay-Z of Pop Solo performance category. "Skyfall" should be another consecutive win for her next year.

Unlike the Oscars, early release dates have never hurt an album's chances at the Grammys, unless they dropped off in sales. Rihanna's "Diamonds" looks like it will be a serious contender for ROTY/SOTY. "Unapologetic" should receive a genre album nod as well.
I see Beyonce dominating in overall nominations again. Just gotta wait to hear what she releases.
It's obvious Justin Timberlake will receive nods. Everyone was kissing his ass last night.
I think Lady Gaga will get snubbed but we gotta hear the new music first.
Taylor will make her usual appearance in ROTY for "I Knew You Were Trouble" and AOTY for "Red".
Maybe Mariah Carey will garner some nominations with her new album.
Eminem should appear in the Rap field, General field depends on how the album and single performs
We will see a Best New Artist nominee end up in the General field.
Katy Perry is releasing this year as well. If that's the case she'll get a couple nominations.
Arcade Fire are loved by the critics. They could make a lot of noise in the general field nomination time
D'Angelo should get a lot of love in the R&B field.

In addition to these (most notably Beyoncé, Timberlake, Bowie, and Vampire Weekend), I think we can expect that if new albums are released in time from Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, that they will perform well at the Grammys.  Some artists set to release new albums that could surprise at the Grammys, depending on how well they're received, commercially and/or critically, include Black Sabbath, Phoenix, Daft Punk, AC/DC, Mariah Carey, and Bon Jovi.

I think we've already heard one of our ROTY frontrunners: Bruno Mars for "Locked Out of Heaven." The Grammy audience went crazy for that song last night. Once Lady GaGa returns on the scene, watch out. New Kanye could be something to discuss, as well as Beyonce and Justin Timberlake. If "The 20/20 Experience" is any kind of critical/commercial force, voters are going to welcome back JT to the fold with open arms. And sadly, Taylor Swift's going to be a force in the General Field next year with "Red" in AOTY and I guess "I Knew You Were Trouble" in ROTY (if the lesser "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" can make it in). It would be nice to see Pink make something land in the General Field. I'm hoping "Try" is the song to do that. Urban acts? Kendrick Lamar comes to mind first. I think I read something about Maxwell coming back with something new in 2013. We should be on the lookout for the next big country/folk representation in the field.

- I can see Taylor Swift not getting into AOTY despite her strong sales and hit singles. After all, she didn't manage to get in last year for Speak Now despite having similar sales and weaker competition, and other pop (since Taylor is more pop than country at this point) artists like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Justin Timberlake may steal the pop slot away from her.

- Damn I hope Eminem waits till after the deadline to release, Kendrick's GKMC is seriously a classic and deserves the Best Rap Album and AOTY, or at least a nomination. 

- Thrift Shop is a huge hit right now, could it score a ROTY nomination?

- 2013 looks like an amazing year in music I'm actually salivating in excitement!
