The show still sucks. Frank and Ron need to stop insisting on growing new stories out of old ones. They should have completely reset the decks and started over fresh when they took over instead of trying to salvage the garbage left behind by Wolf/Guza/Phelps. Why are Lisa Niles and Franco still driving story when most fans wish they had never been introduced in the first place? I'd much prefer it if the residents of Port Charles all pretended as if Lisa Niles, Franco, the Woman in White, nuKate and Maggie never existed. Kate's DID story is useless. I barely care about Kate, why would I care about the people inside her head? And Kelly Sullivan's Brooklyn accident is laughable. Lisa LoCicero looked gorgeous today. Laura Wright looks gorgeous everyday. I wonder how long before Johnny's killed off in a sweeps murder mystery. Pairing Starr and Michael makes sense on paper, but they're both so petulant that I can't sit through their scenes. Finola Hughes and Jason Thompson are still killing it on a daily basis. I like the way John McBain is interacting with the residents of Port Charles. I enjoyed Todd vs. Sonny and Carly bonding with Blair. I wish they'd bring DePaiva back considering her GH performances were better than the three One Lifer's who were offered contracts. The show's definitely more watchable now but it's time for new storylines. |

I am already over John & Sam. I thought it was unrealistic for her to blab everything to him, and watching Kelly Monaco try to act was dreadful. On the other hand, I did like the progression with the Connie saga. Connie antagonizing Jason is interesting plot-wise because it's risky in that she'll likely not get away with it, yet Sonny is so ditzy that she will probably be able to cause some drama in the short term. I also find it funny that Connie is so repulsed by Sonny since the popular perception in Port Charles is that Connie is the love of his life and Kate left him on the street corner. I think Kelly Sullivan and the writing have made this story quite good in spite of the fact that there was initially no reason to care. |

Connie was hilarious on Friday. Has anyone else noticed that things are getting a bit sloppy since the new regime took over? It took Sonny 30 minutes to get Connie's text, Alexis referred to Mac as Maxie's uncle which he is not, Viki and Niki were spelled incorrectly on the biography Kate was reading as well as the Jess label being on Tess's picture and vice versa, and the editing overall looks choppy. I think I said this before but, I am liking Ewan as is and hope they do not force big time backstory on him because they already did that to Steve and soaps do benefit from having a few normal good people around. Alexis's moment of self-reflection at the end of the show redeemed the character for me. Slightly. Sam is being ridiculous. Overall the show is doing well. It could benefit by wrapping up some of these stories and maybe cutting a few characters, and it will be interesting to see what they do for sweeps. |

As tiresome as Spinelli can be, Bradford Anderson still cracks me up. I love when other women get in Carly's face. No matter whose side you are on, it is always a good fight. I thought it was odd though for Sonny to tell Kate to bring the car around considering he fancies himself a gentlemen, and it was made worse by the fact that Kate left but her next scene was in the same place anyway. But then in that scene, Kate was suprised at Olivia's accusations even though she had already guessed that Connie hit on Steve, so I am thinking these are instances again of careless editing and I do not like it at all. Loved Connie's reaction when she realized she was waking up next to Sonny. |

So I've been watching since last Monday since Robin Mattson's return. I haven't kept up with GH everyday this religiously since Genie Francis briefly returned. Here's what I got... - Love my girl, Robin Mattson. Keep waiting for an Emmy submission. - It was BLISS seeing Mattson, Anthony Geary, Finola Hughes, and Scott Reeves sharing scenes today. Four incredibly soap vets radiating off each other made for a repeat-viewing. - I didn't realize until GH how much I liked Michael Easton. Where Thorsten Kaye and Maurice Benard sort of bore me, Easton is a bit compelling (all three have that dark brooding thing going on). - I fast-forward a lot. I always watch Finola's scenes. So happy she's on contract. - I try to watch Nancy Lee Grahn's scenes, but I don't care about any of these young brats she's having to share her scenes with. I enjoyed her exchange with Sam and really enjoyed her meeting with John McBain. Can we intertwine her with Hiughes, Mattson, Geary, etc? Also nice to see she still wears the same exact suit and has the same hairstyle she did seven years ago when I was watching. Hard times. - Speaking of the young ones...Bland bland bland. Julie Berman outshines them all to be honest. I loved Cole and Starr on OLTL but Starr and Sonny's son (see? I don't even know his character's name. Michael? Morgan? Who is he?) have ZERO chemistry or charisma. Get Cole back because Alderson shined with him. Brandon Buddy was his name. - Why is this Kate character getting so much screentime? I don't like her or the actress. And I loathe her Brooklyn accent. It's painfully bad. - Maurice Benard - Still boring. Laura Wright - Beautiful, but blah. Prefer Brown and Braun. (Laura, give Colleen Zenk her Emmy now, please.) - Where are Roger Howarth and Kassie DePaiva? I thought they were offered contracts. - Loved the little addition of Monica, Tracy, and Alice. But MERCY Leslie Charleson underwent some major plastic surgery. Really too bad. Did I mention I love Robin Mattson? My all-time favorite soap actress ever? If she ends up off GH this time, I think that will be it. She's already had roles on B&B and DAYS, so that just leaves her for Y&R. But OMG....The idea of her and Eric Braeden in a scene together. Magic. I'm going to keep watching. As long as Hughes, Mattson, and Grahn stay onscreen, I'll tune in. Hopefully, I'll be compelled to stop fast-forwarding everything. It's like 2002 all over again and I'm slowly getting sucked back in the soap world. I think I'll check out Y&R next. Was gonna check out DAYS, but I'll let the new writers settle in. Hope things have improved in Genoa City. Last time I watched Sharon was a major klepto and Eddie from Family Matters was taking over Shemar Moore's role. Ugh. -Morgan |

Does no one at GH see how awful Kristan Alderson is? At first I was mad because I did not think she was even trying, but when she tries it actually makes it worse. Overall I am liking the show, but everyday I find something new that the new regime is messing up. Like today, Steve's conversation was of zero value. That conversation was basically a repeat of what he had said to other characters before and nothing was accomplished. And the John/Sonny scenes fell flat. First of all, the actors were forcing it, and second of all, there was no emotion in the writing. Guza and Wolfe absolutely had their flaws, but they generally gave the audience a reason to care, which is an area where this new team is failing big time. |

It was like this during the last year or so of OLTL as well, when she was turning in some pretty bad performances and some of us wondered why no one seemed to notice. But I guess they liked it, since they immediately moved her over to GH for more of the same. RE-HIRE CHRISTIE CLARK! |

OMG she is terrible. I don't get it. Watching her yesterday was tough. Especially when she had that "breakdown" and Michael tried to comfort her. I can't take her seriously and consider her to be GH's weakest link at this point. A day without Starr is a great day in Port Charles. Cut your losses now Cartini. In other GH news--still loving me some Sullivan and any & all things Connie. Loved how Burton handled Jason when Connie started going off on him last week. This man's facial expressions say it all. I read an interview with Sullivan recently that Kate and Connie are going to have a confrontation in the near future and the way she described the scenes sound amazing. Can't wait! Stoked Hughes has been put on contract. And excited to see Flo hit the scene--but like some of you, hope she keeps the screeching and yelling to a minimum. Digging Monaco and Easton. Hope they find a way to include Herbst in this and up the ante. Never caught the Jason/Elizabeth romance but knew how incredibly popular they were. Wouldn't mind seeing them revisting this and throwing Monaco into Easton's waiting arms. Peace out Natalie. Everytime I see Heather Webber I imagine her holding Ridge Forrester at gun point. That was my first introduction to her and I can't shake that image. It's been over two weeks since we saw Robin alive and that's it? I take it that's all we're getting until McCullough agrees to return either full or part time. |

It reminds me of OLTLFan mentioned in the thread about FloLo coming on to the show. These shows had two different and distinct STYLES. OLTL was camp and GH had realistic dialogue. So when you have a Kristen Alderson mixing it up on a GH canvas, it comes off as jarring as hell. And yes she is terrible. |

Robin Mattson looks incredible! I have had the misfortune of seeing her in lesser bit parts over the yrs. (ATWT, B&B, DAYS), but she is stealing scenes left and right and playing crazy w/such nuance and bite. Though it does seem like this is an arc, I hope somehow she stays on the show for a little bit longer. As for that trial -_-, though it seems that they bought some new set pieces and is lighting the set differently for the courtroom scenes. It's very OLTLish and that is a compliment since I liked that set. |

http://xfinity.comcast.net/blogs/tv/2012/04/13/deep-soap-general-hospital-needs-a-prescrption-for-happy-pills/ This column pretty much sums up exactly how I'm feeling about GH right now. Heather Webber is rocking my world. Heather offering Olivia that cup of tea was the best scene on GH in ages. And while I don't think this show needs any latent lesbianism, I'd love to see Anna and Alexis as bff's. |

^^ LOVE the Robin Mattson LOVE! But she is making so many enemies so fast...Pouring the milkshake on Anna, embarking revenge on Sam, offering "tea" to Olivia...There's gotta be some oddball that Heather could become BFF's with and then they can work on redeeming her. All she needs is a magic cure for the LSD she took years ago and (by soap magic, of course) she'll be completely redeemed. And believe me...To those that saw Robin as Janet-From-Another-Planet on AMC, she can play a heroine just as beautifully as she can a villain. Finola got her contract; lets give Robin one now. And an Emmy would be lovely. -Morgan |

Kate's (understandable) hysteria when she first heard voices in her head was very entertaining. OTT has a place on soaps when done right, and I am glad this DID story is not being played out as a serious medical arc but rather using something realistic to create soapy fun. That said, I do not appreciate that Sam's paternity issues are being given the same treatment (ie making soapy fun via "who's the daddy" treatment to a rape story line). Unacceptable. Heather's return keeps getting better and I appreciate Olivia's skeptical attitude, judgemental as it may be. I enjoy seeing Carly on days like today where we have her heart (with Starr/Michael) and brain (with Johnny at the end) rather than just her impulsive behaviour. So weird that Carly is not in the front seat lately considering that Laura Wright is probably the woman with the most airtime in the last year or two (or perhaps a close second to KKL who traditionally dominates for airtime). Kinda miss her. |

^OMG!!!!! I was just coming here to talk about Laura Wright! So I'm on week three of GH now...Still figuring a lot of things out, both good (Anna! Heather! NLG not being wasted!), bad (Maxi recast. Kate-recast when she's Connie and not Kate.) and just perplexing (Leslie Charleson and the plastic surgery...dayyyuuuuuum.). Buuuut...Laura Wright was front-and-center for a long long long time. I looked at her win last year as a reward for being robbed of a nom for GL (deserved) and for working her ass off on GH for so long. (But it should have gone to Colleen Zenk. I mean, c'mon.) However, there's an entirely new regime in town...As I was watching today, it occurred to me Laura/Carly is just...There. Sort of filler. The way Alexis dismissed Carly to Johnny without even eyeing Carly showed how sort of, irrelevant (right word?) the character has become. In my opinion Laura Wright and Kassie DePaiva are the same actress playing the same character. The hot blonde vet dominating screentime week after week. In no way did I ever see this two being on the same soap as the characters they play...Unless Blair Kramer and Carly are twins, haha. I know DePaiva is recurring, but...Maybe Wright isn't Ron and Frank's cup of tea? I did get a tip from someone on the inside that Frons' two biggest crushes were Alicia Minshew and Laura Wright. Poof. Two are gone and Laura seems to be joining them...Never thought I'd see way more of Alexis than Carly. Just an observation. Sidenote: Robin Mattson is delivering every single day, every single moment. Today, with her "I'll just join Samantha," was delicious. -Morgan |

I was going to make the same comparison with Carly/Laura Wright and Blair/Kassie DePaiva. They are pretty similar characters, and I think of how Blair suffered under Frank and Ron's tenure on OLTL. It was like they knew they needed to keep her around, but they didn't know what to do with her. I would be kind of a shame if the same thing happened here.
