Potential Black actors/actress who could
earned Oscar-nominations for next year. Hopefully some of these actors and actresses can return as returing nominees/winners and maybe we may see some new faces in the race. Here are some early buzzed films that we should keep our eye on right now. |

I do expect nods for Lewis and Field. But what do you guys think of "Gimme Shelter"?????????? I would love to see Rosario Dawson win an Oscar. This could be the "Precious" of the year if its directed correctly. |

Anne Hathaway won't live up for in the film for being lead, her role is really small and I also think Linney will be support (as Field). |

About Les Miserables the roles that got recognition at Oliver/Tony/Drama Desk were: Jean Valjean - Hugh Jackman (lead) Javert - Russell Crowe (lead) Éponine - Samantha Barks (supporting) Cosette - Amanda Seyfried (supporting) Enjolras - Aaron Tveit (supporting) I really think Hathaway could make a impression and get over Seyfried, for example and I bet Crowe will do like Zeta-Jones and Hudson and will go to supporting and this could hurt Tveit in bases that since 91' the supporting actor category has never more had two actors from the same movie. |

I dropped Anne Hathaway to supporting and replaced her lead slot with Meryl Streep (hey, you never know).

I really don't see Rock of Ages doing well. It might be how Hairspray performed before: Globes love it, Oscars didn't even give notice. |

BTW, has anybody seen the original DJANGO? Just wondering why and how you think Tarantino is going to make that hyper-violent cult film Oscar friendly.

I have copies of at least seven Django films, and the thought that any similar effort would be a future Oscar contender was not foremost on my mind when seeing any of them.

I'm sorry, but I'm laughing at the idea of World War Z being a major Oscar contender. No way would the Academy go for that. Prometheus on the other hand, if the script synopsis thats around the internets is anywhere near what the final film will be like and the trailer wasn't all hype, could go over really well. Alien should have been a major player back in '79. |
