RECORD OF THE YEAR |

Bahaha, you've got to be kidding me, Gucci. Maybe in your dreams this could happen, but let's be real-- it's not called the Pop Grammy Awards. You need some other representation. I can tell you this right now: Rock, Alternative, and Rap categories will be spilling over into the General Field much more this year. 2012 has been a very weak year for Pop music. Katy Perry and Rihanna for AOTY, ROTY, and SOTY: no more. We need a break from them, at least for this year's awards. Here is a much more realistic view as of July 2012, and knowing what is being released in the next 2.5 months: Album of the Year El Camino, The Black Keys Take Care, Drake Wrecking Ball, Bruce Springsteen Ceremonials, Florence + the Machine Believe, Justin Bieber Possible substitutes: Born & Raised- John Mayer; Mylo Xyloto- Coldplay; Stronger- Kelly Clarkson; Tuskegee- Lionel Richie Record of the Year "Somebody That I Used to Know", Gotye feat. Kimbra "We Are Young", fun. feat. Janelle Monae "Take Care", Drake feat. Rihanna "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)", Kelly Clarkson "Shake It Out"- Florence + the Machine Song of the Year "Somebody That I Used to Know", Gotye feat. Kimbra "Lonely Boy" or "Gold on the Ceiling", The Black Keys "Climax", Usher "Shadow Days", John Mayer "We Take Care of Our Own"- Bruce Springsteen Best New Artist One Direction Gotye Frank Ocean Alabama Shakes fun. Substitutes: Avicii, Azealia Banks, Lana Del Rey, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran Best Pop Vocal Album Stronger, Kelly Clarkson Mylo Xyloto, Coldplay Born & Raised, John Mayer Some Nights, fun. Believe, Justin Bieber Best Pop Solo Performance "Call Me Maybe", Carly Rae Jepsen "Shadow Days", John Mayer "Set Fire to the Rain (Live from Royal Albert Hall)", Adele "Boyfriend", Justin Bieber "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)", Kelly Clarkson Best Pop Duo/Group Performance "Somebody That I Used to Know", Gotye feat. Kimbra "We Are Young", fun. feat. Janelle Monae "Princess of China", Coldplay feat. Rihanna "What Makes You Beautiful", One Direction "Shake It Out", Florence + the Machine Best Rock Album El Camino, The Black Keys Wrecking Ball, Bruce Springsteen !Uno!, Green Day Untitled, Mumford & Sons Boys and Girls, Alabama Shakes Possible substitutes: upcoming No Doubt album; The 2nd Law- Muse Best Rap Album Take Care, Drake Undun, The Roots Ludaversal, Ludacris Strange Clouds, B.o.B. Trouble Man, T.I. Best Country Album Four the Record, Miranda Lambert Blown Away, Carrie Underwood Uncaged, Zac Brown Band Welcome to the Fishbowl, Kenny Chesney Guitar Slinger, Vince Gill Best Alternative Album Port of Morrow, The Shins Ceremonials, Florence + the Machine Blunderbuss, Jack White Gossamer, Passion Pit Making Mirrors, Gotye |

^^^Dude, Gucci's predictions aren't real. Gucci is poking fun at everyone who is predicting those people. You need to know Gucci to understand Gucci :)
The best album of the year so far. "Past Gone" is the best song of the year as well. Check out Mike Stud's debut album on iTunes. |

And you would be wrong, with the exception of his Pop Vocal Performance nomination, all of his other genre nods were in the R&B field that year, and he received a Best Contemporary R&B Album nomination for his album. So, no pop albums were nominated that year and I wouldn't be surprised if Pop was completely snubbed in Album of the Year this year. |

Also, look out for Kanye's G.O.O.D. album coming out next month. "Mercy" is already a certified hit and could push things in the rap field. |

Carly Rae?? NO!! Bieber?? HELL NO!! If he nominated for AOTY, Grammy will got a lot of backlash from music industry. The only one who happy with his nomination is his fans. Please stop with this Bieber nominated for AOTY it never gonna happen. The album will be nominate for teen chocie but not for GRAMMYs people!!! |

Why everyone forgetting about Fiona Apple?? She's a lead right now for AOTY, just look at her metascore: 90+. Can't believe you guys prefer Bieber than Ms. Apple for AOTY. |

Sweetie, Fiona Apple is NOT getting an AOTY nomination. When will you people learn that metacritic has little to no importance at the Grammy Awards ? Plus, Apple is not in the Grammy club.

Since when does a Metacritic score tell anything about the chances for AOTY? Look at the past nominees and you see that the majority hardly got over a score of 70. The Grammys are only about sales these days and sadly Fiona doesn't have them. She might serve as the random rock/alternative nominee, but she might not be rock enough.
And if you wanna make sense
Whatcha looking at me for? |

mikeboy, i see that our predictions aren't so different ;) ALBUM OF THE YEAR The Black Keys, El Camino Drake, Take Care Carrie Underwood, Blown Away 2 pop slots reserved for two of the following ones: Coldplay, Mylo Xyloto John Mayer, Born And Raised Rihanna, Talk That Talk Kelly Clarkson, Stronger Maroon 5, Overexposed i hope that this '2 successful pop albums in' pattern will stop this year, as there are no worthy contenders for those slots. i would prefer to see there Florence & something else. For those of you mentioning Azealia Banks, she doesn't have a full-length album, so there are doubts that she is even eligible for Best New Artist. |

Frank Ocean is releasing is releasing his debut studio album, Channel Orange, on July 17. I guarantee you he'll be nominated in R&B and likely BNA. |

Skrillex didn't have a full length album either and he arguably had less buzz than Azealia does now. Her second EP "Fantasea" is dropping tomorrow. "1991" was already critically acclaimed |
