I have an interesting idea for winners of predictions contests

Now as we all know, those who win prediction contests get handsome prizes in the form of money or gift cards I believe. Its a cool way to drum up support for GD

Unfortunately, that’s only open to US members. I understand why though, and I know it is illogical to make it available to EVERYONE all over the world. But there are a huge chunk of us who are from different corners of the world, and we’d also like the opportunity to be awarded. So here is my idea:

Give winners a choice of prize – either the money or some awesome novelty prize, such as in one of the webcam interviews, the winner gets a special shoutout from the person being interviewed. I know money makes the world go round, but if I had to choose between $100 or a shoutout from Betty White or Jessica Lange or Martin Scorsese, I’d definitely go with the latter. That way, even if a non-US resident wins, they can still get a prize of some sort.

    Just an idea

Give your Canadian (or non-American) winners a certificate or something since they can’t win any prizes. I won the Amazing Race prediction contest 2 seasons ago and recieved nothing. Sort of deflating.

Same thing happened to me. I won and because i’m Canadian could not get a prize. However I really don’t understand why it can’t be open to American and Canadian residents. I can use an American Amazon gift card in Canada just the same. However it would be nice to like Adam said at least get a certificate. Kind of disappointing.

Curious that you mention certificates. We just designed new certificates to give our users with best predix scores. Marcus is working on them.

As for the contest rules governing Americans/ foreigners, there is nothing we can do about the exclusion of foreigners. We’re following U.S. law on this. Sorry.

Sorry for being so late in here, but as a Venezuelan predictor, i can’t receive any price.

Let’s say that one day i end up winning x award prediction, could the Amazon gift card be given to any family member that i had in the US? Because i have family there, and maybe that could be a way of receiving the reward.

Weird, because I have been given gift cards from the USA on Amazon just fine…

Ok, but Tom is right. At the end of ALL U.S. sweepstakes/contests, it says U.S.A. residents only. This is generally due to tax regulation and because every country has different laws and regulations regarding winnings from sweepstakes and contests.

I’m wondering the same this as Manuelcolon I too have family in the states so can my winning not be mail to them and they can forward it to me? Also if as a Canadian I can play and win the powerball how is it that I can’t win a $100 Amazon gift card.
