This has been going on for a while. You want to go right to the latest post in a thread that has, say, 17 pages — but it links you to page 19 and therefore takes you to a page to only reply but doesn’t allow you to navigate to earlier (let alone the most recent) page.

    And it is VERY annoying.

Also the default to edit a post should not be to show a log of prior edits.

I understand that this is not the case for everyone, but the problem was solved for me once I removed someone from my “ignore” list whom I had unknowingly added to it.

“Newest comment” has taken me fairly consistently to the penultimate pages of threads for the last day or so.

It seems as if the last page must have 2 or more posts on it before the “Newest Link” link takes you to the last page. Otherwise, you end up on the penultimate (second to last) page. When I clicked on newest link for this thread, for example, everything was fine — it took me to this last page.
