You should be able to resume posting in the Gold Derby forums now!August 4, 2016 at 6:05 pm #1201903099
I… don’t know what changed.

I wasnt home all day and hadn’t even checked so definately chose the right day to not be around lolAugust 5, 2016 at 11:39 am #1201903490
BIG NEWS: The reason Gold Derby was shut down for a whole day recently was because we just unveiled our newly overhauled Prediction Center. We just had the whole thing rebuilt from scratch with new computer coding so you should no longer be experiencing crazy picks. Also, the racetrack odds should be working correctly now — not on our home page and on our odds pages yet, but within the Prediction Center. At this point there may still be some kooky things in your predictions. Please check. If so, please delete the mistakes and redo your picks one more time. Hopefully, everything will be fine now. If not, please let us know pronto!August 5, 2016 at 11:53 am #1201903499

So much better! Prediction center works on my smart phone, too.
Only thing I noticed is that not all accompanying photos appear. For instance, in my ballot the photos for all drama series except Dowton Abbey are visible.August 5, 2016 at 1:25 pm #1201903525
Tony Hale’s odds are more favourable now than when I logged my predictions, so I went to update. I removed him, but when I went to add him back in, it blocked me with this misspelled message: “You’ve Exceeded the Maximum Number of Preditions”.
It did that for several other categories too.
Also, at the bottom, it says “Is your favorite missing? Let us know”, which no longer applies (and kind of did never did, as the please-add-to-the-predictions-center thread went ignored).August 5, 2016 at 5:16 pm #1201903627
Is a tech change why I can’t see my thread unless I type in the URL http://www.goldderby.com/forum/television/21st-century-nominees-dream-ballot/#post-1201903624
and even when I type that in I don’t see the OP only the responses?August 7, 2016 at 2:48 pm #1201904074
For some reason, we now have to wait even longer (a few seconds more) to post again after a post. It’s really annoying and frankly unnecessary.August 8, 2016 at 1:17 pm #1201904423
Admitted, I haven’t visited Goldderby much in the last couple of months since I am not a big fan of the Emmys. However coming back to the new Goldderby is not a big joy. I have now spend most of an evening trying to figure it out and I am still having trouble with three of my favourite features from Goldderby:
I can’t for the love of God find other prediction graphs than the one on the front page. They must be somewhere, but where?
It seems like only my score from previous events have been transferred to the new site and not all my predictions. Predictions in several categories are missing. And that is not the only problem. Let’s take BAFTA 2015. Goldderby tells me that I predicted 57% of 21 categories correct (which is probably true) and that this gave me a ranking of no. 829. However the user at the top of the leaderboard predicted 56% of 21 categories. I know that there are users who did considerably better than both 56% and 57%, but why are they not in the leaderboard.
Where on earth do I find a combined all time leaderboard, like on the old site?
I am all for updating websites, but I think the new Goldderby is not very intuitive and it looks like a lot of features has been either removed or hidden. I am sure I will learn to like the new Goldderby, if I could only figure out how to get hold of the three above features.
Am I a huge idiot or are other people having the same problem?August 8, 2016 at 3:14 pm #1201904530
I still can’t move anything or predict a darn thing. WTF?
Nothing works!!! All of the choices lay on top of one another, so you can really move them or know what you’re doing. (Same thing goes for my past predictions, you can’t even read them). Also, the layout of each category is a mess with them all on top of one another. The whole thing is a mess still.
Do I have to do it on my phone or a tablet now or something? Cuz if so, I’m gone.
And on a side note, the Forums still have problems. They redirect you all over the place.August 8, 2016 at 6:11 pm #1201904576
PLEASE, PLEASE, I ask you to consider changing two things in the forums.
First, end the “time between posts” rule. Yes, “evil Chinese hackers” may take advantage, but even those only come around rarely. We should not be punished for this. It’s easier and fair to just deal with the EXCEPTIONS when they happen. Us millennials type too fast!
Second: end the blocking of over-quoting posts. Yes, it is annoying. But trust us to have the common sense to stop quoting over four, five posts repeatedly. Sometimes it makes sense. And sometimes, we do it without realizing, and posts we might have spent minutes writing get thrown away because of the dumb automatic, brainless blockage. Trust the users to tell each other: “the quoting is too much!” or, if that doesn’t happen, get an editor (there are many of them, and they are always around) to send a private message.
