Williams did a terrific job, but common, if you tell me the just used the exact same score from another SW I would believe it. It sounded amazing, but it’s the same old thing.
It was very long, terribly acted in parts and had some silly fights. They keep repeating mistakes like having more cute characters, the new girl Rose is also a cliche, more stuffed animals, now dressed as nuns, that milking scene, Laura Dern’s terrible costume.
But was it enjoyable? Yes. It was. Despite some terrible fights (Kylo Ren and Rey…[Read more]

Forgot about 2007. What an easy win for No Country. I guess Juno and There Will Be Blood became important too late, Atonement was too brittish (but it hasn’t stopped them before), Michael Clayton too small (again, not a problem before). Seriously, 310 to Yuma over any of those 4?

The Bick Sickand Mudbound are the likeliest to miss. Specially The Big Sick.
3B, Lady Bird are locks.
Get Out could miss, but at this point with all other films disappearing and only Mudbound and Florida Project maybe sort of haging in there, I think Get Out is popular enough to make it over those two.

This is ridiculous. What they have to judge right now IS a miniseries. When they come back with a second season it can be drama.
I don’t see threads about Idris Elba having to return his Globe or SAG, or Cumberbatch/Freeman returning their awards and/or nominations.
And the already mentioned Downton case.
Without reading the thread I can only…[Read more]
Doesn’t a narrative win each year? At least once? I don’t have time right now to look back but common, it happens. And it doesn’t have to be narrative alone: Julianne Moore, Sandra Bullock, it could be Narrative+Performance: Leo.
Bryce Dallas Howard should’ve been a nominee over Chastain who was basically in a combo nomination with her other 20 films released that year. But Howard was the right nominee between the two. And if Chastain needs to stay, then get rid of Bejo.
And while we’re at it, she was snubbed everywhere for Black Mirror too.
Maybe one day she’ll get her…[Read more]
Saw Mudbound last night. I wasn’t as impressed as everybody else. I agree with those who say Mulligan should be getting the supporting buzz over Blige who was good but not great. It should be nominated for Cinematography. Maybe Jason Mitchell too.
I saw Good Time too. One of my favorites of the year. Robert Pattison should’ve been in contention…[Read more]
Saw a bit of The Help on tv…so Octavia Spencer is just going to keep being nominated against co-stars from that film?
(I checked just in case if Fruitvale Station was the same year as Birdman, it was not).
You’re so sweet, as usual. I can only imagine your reaction if somebody would tell you “expand your thinking for once”.
What was the need for that if you’re going to answer with a list that includes Lansbury, Moore, White, Burnett and so on, who are legendary for doing what the HFPA honors (regular primetime television), and would make total…[Read more]
Where is Daniela Vega going to come from? National Society? She has made zero impact during the race, her film might have made the shortlist, but it’s getting nominated in places just like any other foreign film on each list. It’s making no special or relevant impact outside of that. She’s not famous like Huppert or a legend like Riva (in a film…[Read more]
Yes, television winners should be picked more often. But pick people in the areas that the Globes cover. Is Barbara Walters a logical choice then? Or Letterman or Larry King? This is not the Emmys.
(Letterman in a world where he doesn’t have harassment issues).
You want a legendary black woman? Pick Whoopi Goldberg then.
But whatever, of course…[Read more]
BenitoDelicias replied to the topic Will online voting affect the Grammys? If so, how? in the forum Music 3 days, 8 hours ago
How could this affect voting? Bland choices won’t stop being rewarded because that new, hip and urban thing called “the internet” is now a part of voting.
And if all you have to do to vote is listen to stuff that came out months ago, why wasn’t online voting available before? Can’t think of a more appropiate awards show than this one to allow…[Read more]
Ben went crazy and it was fun to watch, but why vote Ashley out for no reason? Even if Mike is a threat, their targets should’ve been Devin or Ryan to weaken Chrissy who is very much running the game. She had inmunity, so at least start getting rid of her minions who at this point are the ones making sure she wins this thing.
Mike and Ashley…[Read more]
This was a great and hilarious season. I was dreading the wait until “a next season that who knows when will happen”….oh wait…now we get this confirmation right away. Excellent news.
Weird choice. I mean, I see this as going to somebody they can reward in their own show. Oprah is famous for doing something that has never been rewarded by these people. So why do this? She’s acted in and produced very few films for both film and tv. But it’s not like they’re all that memorable or popular except for a couple of projects. So she…[Read more]

You do NOT want to read who came in at #1.[/quote]
A lot of shows end up at #1, or anywhere on these lists, doesn’t mean people or award shows care about them. You of all people should know that since you usually complain about every single list every single year when your faves (movies or shows) don’t make it but shows or…[Read more]
