The promotional effort for the Feb. 27 Oscarcast on ABC has shifted into high gear. The two telegenic hosts -- current Oscar contender James Franco ("127 Hours") and 2008 nominee Anne Hathaway ("Rachel Getting Married") -- feature in a series of ads that showcase their chemistry and charisma.
The pair shot these TV spots as well as the print photos over the weekend of Jan. 8. Franco, who is pursuing a full-time education, jetted in to town for less than 48 hours. In between a side trip to the Palm Springs filmfest to fete "127 Hours" helmer Danny Boyle, he made merry with his lovely co-host. Hathaway -- who will be the youngest ever host of the Oscars -- was good enough to accommodate his hectic schedule which meant getting up in the wee small hours.
In the two clips below, the pair prepare for hosting, to the theme from 1976 Best Picture champ "Rocky," and then get tongue-tied extending invitations to viewers to tune in to the big show.
