CinemaCon (the newly named ShoWest) is a yearly trade show in Las Vegas where studios tout their wares to theater operators. A slew of prizes is handed out, including one for career achievement. This year's recipient is Dame Helen Mirren, who headlines the remake of "Arthur" due out next month. She joins a list of luminaries including Jerry Bruckheimer, (2010), Michael Caine (2009), Steven Spielberg (2002), and Sean Connery (1999).
As well as saluting industry vets, CinemaCon also touts newcomers. This year's Rising Stars of Tomorrow recipients -- Jason Momoa ("Conan the Barbarian") and Julianne Hough ("Footloose") appear in a pair of remakes. Last year, Alex Pettyfer ("Beastly") and Vanessa Hudgens ("HSM") were the winners of this honor.
These prizes will be handed out March 31 during an evening ceremony in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
