"Days of Our Lives" hopes a reboot will keep it alive on NBC: "The producers have been promising to 'reset' the daytime drama this fall to include 'more contemporary stories based on the solid foundation of the 'Days' history of family, romance, and drama.' Translation: They’re trying to keep 'Days' as relevant as possible to ensure that soaps continue to have a place in daytime for as long as possible. Getting [Deidre] Hall and [Drake] Hogestyn back was definitely a step in the right direction." EW.COM
Adele has reconciled with the ex who inspired her album "21": "She still hasn't identified her old boyfriend, whose departure inspired 'Rolling in the Deep,' 'Someone Like You' and much of the rest of Adele's breakout second album, '21.' 'He changed my life, I can't deny that,' the singer told [UK's the Independent]. 'The album helped me get over splitting up with my boyfriend. It helped me forgive and I hope that he has forgiven himself.'" ROLLING STONE
Nirvana's landmark grunge album "Nevermind" turns 20 today: "With their untucked flannel shirts, messy hair and laid-back air, the three members of Nirvana projected pure slackerdom when they burst onto the cultural scene in 1991. But that look was deceiving. As an expansive new multi-disc re-release of 'Nevermind' reveals, the band worked incessantly for more than a year to craft an album that went on to rock the foundation of the music business in the same way that the Sex Pistols' (similarly titled) 'Never Mind the Bollocks' caused a punk explosion in the disco age." Friday-night dramas "A Gifted Man" and "Fringe" get off to a slow ratings start: "In its premiere last night, 'A Gifted Man' (1.4/5) matched the season debut in the hour of 'Medium' last year. ('Medium' was cancelled a couple of months later.) That was down 39% from the season opener of 'Ghost Whisperer' the year before ... Fox’s 'Fringe' (1.5/5) and its lead-in, 'Kitchen Nightmares' (1.6/6) were both down from January when the network first paired them together on Friday and the 2 series debuted with a 1.9/6 each. Still, a 1.5 and 1.6 was good enough for Fox to post its highest-rated premiere Friday in 6 years and finish second for the night in 18-49, tied with NBC." DEADLINE
