From the press release: "'We are really excited for Patton Oswalt to bring his comedic genius to The Webbys,' said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. 'Patton is the rare comedian who is just as funny online as on a stage. As we push the boundaries of integrating the audience at home with the live show we think Patton is uniquely suited to be this year's Webby host.'"

Ashton Kutcher insists he wasn't making fun of country music at the ACM Awards: "Dressed in a black Stetson and red western jacket, Kutcher sang a little bit of George Strait’s 'I Cross My Heart' and then gave [Miranda Lambert] an award ... After reflecting on the moment, Lambert wasn’t so sure how she felt about Kutcher’s behavior at the ACMs. She tweeted, 'Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I'm kinda wondering?' Well Miranda, according to Ashton Kutcher, Ashton Kutcher is actually a country music fan. A huge one! Michael Musto recreates Susan Lucci's historic Emmy victory: "'You Like Me: An Evening of Classic Acceptance Speeches,' at the edgy Off-Broadway venue Ars Nova in Manhattan, featured an uncanny recreation of Susan Lucci's 1999 acceptance speech for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy Award. Infamous Village Voice columnist Michael Musto was the one to offer Lucci the 'sincerest form of flattery,' and he brought the house down in the process." WE LOVE SOAPS

Tom Cruise will receive Friars Club Entertainment Icon Award: "'Tom Cruise will join an elite group of only three other entertainment legends who have received our Icon Award, and whose work has made a global impact on our industry and changed the very face of cinema,' said Friars Club Abbot Jerry Lewis. The Friars Club, located in New York City, is most famous for its roasting of celebrities ranging from Milton Berle and George Burns to Billy Crystal and Quentin Tarantino. It has a rich, 108-year history." INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TIMES

Adele will release new music this year: "And though it's still unofficial, the Internet rumor mill suggests that the song could be Adele's theme for the upcoming James Bond film (the 23rd!), 'Skyfall,' which hits theaters on November 9. Don't expect a full album anytime soon, though. 'If I didn't write my own songs, I'd be out next week with a new album,' she said. 'But because I write my own songs, I have to take time and live a little bit. There was a good two years between my first and second albums, so it'll be the same this time.'" FUSE
