On "Happy Endings," Eliza Coupe plays the competitive, perfectionistic, vodka-loving, overly-affectionate Jane Kerkovich-Williams. She is part of a six-person ensemble reminiscent of the classic comedy "Friends," but with much faster dialogue and crazier plots.

In a video interview with Gold Derby, Coupe admitted, "I'm a fast talker in general. It's been something that my high school drama teacher was like, 'Nobody can understand you. You need to slow down.' I've just always been a very hyperactive person in general. What's funny is we don't feel like its going so fast when we're doing it. In the editing room, they sometimes take out all the air to make sure all the jokes get in."

On the ABC laffer she plays the wife of Brad Williams (Damon Wayans, Jr.) who thought she wanted a family and a perfect surburban Chicago life until her younger sister Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) broke up with fiance Dave (Zachary Knighton). The sextet also include their friends Max (Adam Pally) and Penny (Casey Wilson).

All six members of the ensemble are on the 2012 Emmy Awards ballot in the supporting categories. If nominated as Best Comedy Supporting Actress, Coupe is considering submitting one of her favorite episodes from the second season: "Spring Smackdown" (Jane and Brad have their annual fight), "Grinches Be Crazy" (Jane and Brad accidentally give their housekeeper the wrong Christmas gift), and "You Snooze, You Bruise" (Jane is the control freak head of the homeowners' association). However, she thinks she might enter "Spooky Endings," the Halloween episode which gave her the chance to wear an unusual costume.

She recalled, "When they were talking about the Halloween episode, I was thinking to myself they're going to make me some crazy witch or I could play a transvestite or a fun costume like that. And they were like, 'You're going to be bacon,' and I'm like 'Sexy bacon?' And nope, not even a little bit sexy. That's so fun to be in this styrofoam bacon costume. It was challenging."
