There was a changing of the guard at the 9th Annual Gold Derby TV Awards. Top series honors went to AMC's "Breaking Bad" and NBC's "Community."

"Breaking Bad's" first-ever Best Drama Series victory ended the three-year winning streak of fellow AMC drama "Mad Men," which won from 2009 to 2011. "Bad" star Bryan Cranston also won Best Drama Actor, his second victory in the category; he last won in 2009. And Giancarlo Esposito won Drama Supporting Actor for his role as drug kingpin Gus Fring.

But "Mad Men" did not go away empty handed. The series, which was the most nominated program this year with 11 bids, picked up a pair of acting prizes: Christina Hendricks won Drama Supporting Actress, while the erstwhile Rory Gilmore, Alexis Bledel, won Drama Guest Actress.

"Mad Men" has famously been shut out of the acting races at the Emmys, but the wins for Hendricks and Bledel are the seventh and eighth acting prizes for the series at the Gold Derby TV Awards. The total is 10 if you include the Breakthrough Performer wins for Jon Hamm and January Jones in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

The total all-time awards haul for "Mad Men" is now 11, making it the second most honored drama at the Gold Derby TV Awards, behind "Lost," which won 16.

"Community" won Best Comedy for the first time, beating two-time defending champ "Modern Family," which lost all six of its bids this year. "Community" also won Best Ensemble.

But "Glee" was the most awarded program overall this year. It won all four of its nominations: Comedy Supporting Actor and Actress (Chris Colfer and Naya Rivera), and Comedy Guest Actor and Actress (Matt Bomer and Dot-Marie Jones).

"Parks and Recreation" was the most nominated comedy this year, with eight, and won one: Best Comedy Actress for Amy Poehler, who has won the category two years in a row. Poehler also won Performer of the Year against Louis C.K. and a quartet of dramatic actors: Bryan Cranston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Danes, and Jessica Lange. Including her two previous Variety Performance victories for "Saturday Night Live," Poehler is now a five-time winner at the Gold Derby TV Awards.

Louis C.K. has the dubious distinction of being the only Performer of the Year nominee not to pick up an award this year. Cranston won Drama Actor. Danes won Drama Actress for "Homeland." Cumberbatch won Movie/Mini Actor for "Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia." And Lange claimed Movie/Mini Supporting Actress for "American Horror Story." "Louie," on the other hand, lost all three of its bids in the comedy races.

"American Horror Story" also won Best Movie/Miniseries. Julianne Moore won Movie/Mini Actress for "Game Change." And Cumberbatch's "Sherlock" costar Martin Freeman won Movie/Mini Supporting Actor.

"Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" won Best Variety Series for the first time, but host Jimmy Fallon lost the Variety Performance race to Kristen Wiig for her farewell season of "Saturday Night Live"; she also won the category in 2008 and 2009.

"SNL" has won seven of the nine Variety Performance prizes given at the Gold Derby TV Awards, and Wiig's win also extends the impressive winning streak for women. Only one man has ever won the category: Dave Chappelle in 2004 for "Chappelle's Show."

"The Voice" won Reality-Competition Series for the first time, while Betty White won Reality Host for "Betty White's Off Their Rockers." It's the third win for White at the Gold Derby TV Awards, not counting her Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.

Elsewhere, "New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel won the Breakthrough Performer award, while Matthew Perry won Drama Guest Actor for "The Good Wife." Jim Parsons won Comedy Actor for the second time for "The Big Bang Theory."
