Watch: Logan Lerman on 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'
Logan Lerman plays teenager Charlie in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," adapted by first time director Steven Chbosky from his renowned coming-of-age novel of the same name. The film, which follows Charlie throughout his freshman year at high school in early nineties Pittsburgh, co-stars Emma Watson and Ezra Miller,
Lerman, who turns 21 next month, recently chatted live with Gold Derby about his role as the shy 15 year-old Charlie. On reliving his freshman year, Lerman recalls it, “was definitely an awkward transition into being awkward again.”
"The Perks of Being a Wallflower” has received widespread praise from critics, garnering a certified "fresh" rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also won numerous awards from the various critics groups this awards season, including nominations for Lerman himself, as Best Young Actor from the Washington DC Area Film Critics Assn. EDITOR'S NOTE: Video below includes a bothersome audio glitch -- there's often an echo when Gold Derby editors Chris Beachum and Rob Licuria speak. It doesn't occur when Lerman speaks, however, so we're posting the video anyway.
