Anne Thompson top expert at predicting Oscar nominations with 73% correct

Anne Thompson (Thompson on Hollywood) outscored all other Oscarologists in predicting the Academy Award nominees. Of our 15 experts who predicted all 24 categories, she led with 73% accuracy, followed closely by Chuck Walton (Fandango) at 72%. 

Peter Travers (Rolling Stone), Edward Douglas (Coming Soon), Michael Hogan (Huffington Post), and Gold Derby's Paul Sheehan all scored 70%.

Tied with 69% were Michael Musto (Village Voice), Kevin Polowy (Next Movie), and Thom Geier (Entertainment Weekly). Matt Atchity (Rotten Tomatoes) and Sasha Stone (Awards Daily) scored 68%.

Richard Horgan (Fishbowl LA) correctly predicted 66% while Thelma Adams (Yahoo) got 62% right, Susan Wloszczyna (USA Today) scored 59% and Keith Simanton (IMDb) came in with 56%.

Guy Lodge (In Contention) predicted 23 categories and did well with 74%. Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg predicted 22 categories, picking 70% correctly.

Seven Oscarologists predicted 21 categories. Of them, Glenn Whipp (LA Times) did best with 78%, followed by Tariq Khan (Fox News) at 75%, Steve Pond (The Wrap) and Pete Hammond (Deadline Hollywood) with 71%, Christopher Rosen (Huffington Post) with 67%, Sean O'Connell (Hollywood News) at 63%, and Jeff Wells (Hollywood Elsewhere) with 57%.

Alex Suskind (Moviefone) scored 66% in 20 categories, while Gold Derby's Tom O'Neil got 69% in 19 categories.

Two experts made predictions in nine categories: Dave Karger (Fandango) was at 80% while Richard Rushfield (BuzzFeed) came in at 68%.
