Costume designers finally get their own Academy branch; they were previously included in the Designers' Branch alongside production designers, art directors, and set decorators. Leading the new branch will be Academy Governor Jeffrey Kurland, an Oscar nominee for dressing "Bullets Over Broadway" in 1994.

The SAG Awards, simulcast on TBS and TNT, drew a total of 5.2 million viewers, including 2.1 million in the coveted 18-49 demographic, an increase of 5% from last year's total in the demo. SAG-AFTRA has also secured a new deal to air the SAG Awards on those networks for three more years.

Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award Winners: Christian aced all rivals, scoring 82%. That was almost 20 percentage points ahead of our top Expert (Edward Douglas of ComingSoon ) and Editor (Matt Noble), both of whom earned scores of 64%.
